Arsenal have been offered a cut-price move for Lyon star Yoann Gourcuff, according to reports.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is known to be a long-term admirer of midfielder Gourcuff, but refused to beat the £20million Lyon paid Bordeaux for his services in 2009.
However, Gourcuff’s career has since gone off the rails, with the 28-year-old struggling with injuries and off the field problems, and he is now looking to rejuvenate his career with a move out of France.
According to Life Sports, Lyon have made the playmaker available for a bargain £3million – but interested clubs will have to take on his whopping £4million-a-year salary.
The news has not put off Arsenal or Spartak Moscow though, with the duo both said to be considering making a move for the player in the closing stages of the transfer window.
Gourcuff, who is yet to play for Lyon this season due to a series of injury setbacks, is hopeful of returning to full training in the next few days, in a bid to build up his fitness ahead of a transfer.
