Or more accurately, La Liga's XI. Some of the teams selected by Dailymail is ridiculously poor. And not a single one selected Aguero?

Here's mine. (assuming all in peak form)

-----------------Hart
Sagna Kompany Koscielny Cole
-----------Yaya----Wilshere
---------------Mata
-------Aguero-RVP-Suarez

And this team would still get thrashed. How poor is PL nowadays?

You really think that team would get thrashed? That line-up is extremely strong, might well lose but it wouldn't be embarrassing.

I'm finding it difficult to take seriously with three Arsenal players in there.

Which RB is better? Ivanovic? Rafael? Walker? Glen fucking Johnson?

I picked Koscielny because at peak form he had Messi in his pocket. Don't think there is another defender in this league that could do that. Wilshere is there by merit. You have seen how he performed against that Barca midfield.

bw, I think the Premierleague team would lose quite badly. Its honestly impossible to defend against that La Liga frontline. Won't get possession off that midfield as well.

Yeah, that team would lose but only because they'll come up against Messi and Ronaldo who are comfortably better than any footballer in the modern era.

I'm going to include players from other leagues:

Buffon
Lahm Kompany Barzagli Chiellini
Pirlo Toure Mata
Reus van Persie Ibrahamovic

-------------Ibra
------Neymar--Robben
-----------Boateng
----------Yaya-Pirlo
Alaba-Kompany-Hummels-Lahm
-------------Neuer

Any "best of 2012" team featuring wilshere and sagna is a sham.

Koscielny hell no as well. No Arsenal player should make it in there other than RVP.

They might lose but it'd depend on the tactics. I reckon if we had the TOTY back 4 we'd concede even more than we do now. The Prem back 4 is much more solid. Switch out Jack for someone who deserves to be there and has a defensive bias and I reckon the Prem team would win, stick Walcott or Bale on the wing too for the pace factor and you'd destroy those full backs.

What would actually happen is that one of the premiership eleven would be sent off for breathing on Iniesta and after defending for their lives, they would succumb to a 80th minute penalty, losing 1-0.

Premier League
de Gea
Zabaleta - Kompany - Vidic - Baines
Yaya Toure - Wilshere
Aguero - Mata - Suarez
van Persie

World
Neuer
Lahm - Kompany - Chiellini - Baines
Yaya Toure - Pirlo
Robben - Mata - Ribery
van Persie

They would if Wenger was "coaching". 😆

I would say history shows that aside from Barcelona's possession game on its day, which has repeatedly mauled United in the CL, Spanish football doesn't have an unbeatable secret weapon.

It would still be incredibly difficult to contain a front three of Ronaldo, Falcao, Messi ... but then it's not like Pique and Ramos are going to do too well against Van Persie, Suarez, Aguero either.

don't get to watch too much footie these days but just for kicks, and with an english ref:

-------------van persie
---------rooney--fabregas
bale-----toure--khedira------lahm
----barzagli--kompany--chiellini
--------------buffon

we'll play on the break with 5 at the back, selected on consensus here. bale will pin alves back. we'll congest the centre of the pitch, where messi, cronaldo and falcao will all be getting in each other's way; don't think that front three would click at all. pirlo's clever, but i've opted for mobility and strength at CM. with an english ref, we'll be allowed to rough them up a bit, and we'll be a danger on set pieces. thought about ozil, but not sure he's a big game player yet. rooney offers more goal threat and better defensive workrate.

two of aguero/cavani/reus, ozil, walcott, pirlo, baines, neuer on the bench. ibra and suarez don't make it cos i dislike them.

de Gea struggles to even make the Manc team.

Wait till those front 3 get possession off that La Liga midfield first. Manure was comfortably the best team in England 3 years ago but still got mauled by Barca in the final comfortably. A front 3 of Falcao, Ronaldo and Messi means they have everything in their locker. Pace, Power, Technique, skills, finishing. Everything.

Don't think its fair to have a world XI against a La Liga XI, and even then the world XI won't win. Will be a closer match though.

It is obviously not of 2012. I said assuming peak form. Theres a lack of obvious talent in certain position of PL XI

It's not actually the team Capello's would pick. Daily Mail are embarrassing.
