Squillaci could be off too.

Ding dong merrily on high.

Djourou to Hannover for 1.6m rumoured to be done

We always manage to sell our players for cheaper prices (imo)

Yeah, what the fuck? Djourou's worth at least 5 times that!

Is this the clearout before the signings?
I'm a bit anxious about the lack of links that appear as if they could be real.
Very quiet.

Shame about Djourou, always seemed cool.

His descent down the pecking order here was quite rapid really, couple of years ago he was the solid one in the partnership with Kos, always seemed to me the type of player who needs weekly games to stay in the zone.

Arshavin to PSV and Chamakh to Lille?

Still remember some of his take from long balls, simple brought it down like a striker. Can't believe he was once our best defender.

We need to ship these guys permanently off, not loan and then come back.

According to the grump Wengie (he really didn't seem in the mood from that press conference) a decision will be made regarding Squillaci and Djourou within 48-72 hours.
🙂 We're on a countdown.
No news on Arshavin though, would appear for the moment he stays

As regards transfers in - hmmm. Signs were not encouraging based on that press conference.
As well as the stuff about dealing first with Theo there were also references to the fact that it's the players that we currently have here who can help us win games and not some player out there on the transfer market (he made it sound like they were on another planet).
According to Wenger this team that he's been rebuilding have been consistent over the past couple of months....
Oh yes and he also said that clubs with good players do not want to lose them in the middle of the season.
From all of that I deduced we're either after Lopez or Villa 😆

You just know we'll have a centre back injury crisis the second we sell those two.

Wenger said back in the summer that we'd make transfers in December. man's just a giant senile fibber

Not sure.
Having watched and listened to him I do have the feeling that we may be targetting a specific player but that the club do not wish to sell right now ( probably because they're not in a weak enough position to accept our lowballing).
I definitely don't think we're making more than one signing though.

I think we're making space for a new signing, if we're desperately trying to sell Arshavin, Djourou and Squillaci.

I think we'll get a centreback if we let Squilly and Dj go.

Fingers crossed for Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa y'all

Moussa sissoko contract runs out in the summer, would much prefer him over mvila.

Debuchy signing for Newcastle

Good addition for them

Weird one that transfer. Didn't they quarrel over the exact asking price in the summer, only to sign him now?

Day 3 (TD minus 28 )
Nothing concrete to report.
Score still 0 (zero)

Bet we come out of this window looking like muppets.

Djourou out for some minimal fee, Squil/Chamakh/Arsh still here, Denilson/Park remain on loan....and no one of note in.

Chamakh to West ham heating up. I'm quite pleased if the deadwood are finally being shipped out,

He will love it in Faces.

Can we not give them all away for free?

Brace yourselves, here's the latest 🙂

"[I'm expecting it to be] very calm because, first of all, I believe there is little money and what can happen is basically a transfer market within the English clubs," Wenger told Arsenal Player.

"That is more difficult than with the foreign clubs. Overall, I believe that not a lot will happen.

"That [the economic situation] could [affect movement], because the clubs have to look at the finances. What makes the clubs are the fans and what makes the fans is the economy. On that front, nobody is really sure what will happen in 2013.

" But Wenger believes there is no shortage of quality available, especially with a number of experienced players available on free transfers at the end of the season

"A lot [are] over 30," he said. "Of course, they are all great players they have proven that
"It shows that the market will be more difficult for the players because the fact that you have so many top-quality players available means that [the clubs] are cautious as well."

😆 And there it is.
It's the eeconooomeee stooopid
:gah::gah:😆

😆 "what makes the fans is the economy" he really is doing his best to burn his bridges before he leaves

He is making things bad for himself because we wont get top 4 without signings which will inevitably see him getting sacked in the summer due to the pressure.

what does that even mean?

he's risking dimishing the fan base/matchgoers with this drivel, the lack of quality performances to match some of the hightest ticket prices in the land, and by dismissing our concerns

Wenger will never get sacked here Sam.

Sounds like he's trying to convince some old player he's better off with us. Lampard?

Who knows?
It's only transfer window day 4 and already I would not mind if someone were to give him a bit of a slap to snap him out of this mood.

We would have signed Holtby if we really wanted him here.

He's not to be fair, but I would have taken him any day.

Holtby looks average not a signing that we need IMO,

Idiotic move by Ba. A pint says he won't start more than half the remaining league games.
