Fair point and i would be happy to be wrong. Hate is too strong a word as i do not dislike him, as a person, in the slightest.
The reason i get on his case is, he seems satisfied to be a 4th choice CB despite being one of the longest serving players on our books.
I would cut him some slack if he was trying his best despite being completely shit, like the Hoyte brothers, but i think he has got the physical attributes to be a "beast" yet he tends to play all mango-buttery instead like when we played Reading (5-7) and he deferred the marking of the physical Jason Roberts to Kos, a smaller player who got dominated.
