Decent two hours' worth of sensitive small-l liberal America patting itself on the back uncontrollably.

Half-Lebanese girl going through puberty in the custody of her controlling father deals with racism and the attentions of a handsome paedophile neighbour before Super White Alpha Hipster Couple shows up to save her family, and indeed society as a whole, from self-destruction.

couldnt get through Towelhead.. the subject matter with the pedophile thing turned me off from the movie immediately

Watched two teen comedies that are surprisingly well-made.
Easy A: about a girl who gains a reputation as the high school slut. Really witty dialog, light and funny.
Mean Girls: an older flick, when Lindsay Lohan was still pure. it's silly, but really well-paced. an easy watch.

I hate most American comedies. I hate the vast majority of teen movies, but these two surprisingly did the trick

One movie you should stay away from is 'Faster'. Saw that last night. It's a real turd burger

downloaded Faster.. think i'll hit the delete button instead of "play".. wasnt sure about it, but havent really heard anything good about it

I thought Easy A was great. One of my favourite comedies of the past few years.

Mean Girls is one of the best films of it's type I've seen. Tina Fey is a genius.

I saw it at the cinema and didn't think it was terrible. Not particularly great, but it's not that bad. The Rock is pretty cool in it.

I've seen Blue Valentine, Fantastic Mr Fox, and Toy Story 3 over the past few nights.

Blue Valentine may be the most depressing film i've ever seen. Ryan Gosling is brilliant in it though.

I loved Kristofferson in that film, by the way. Apparently he's voiced by Eric Chase Anderson, Wes's younger brother. The same brother who wrote the genius novel "Chuck Dugan is AWOL (a novel with maps)" a few years back.

Watched X-men, the First Class on the weekend. Great, great flick, probably my favourite comic movie since the Dark Knight. I enjoyed more than any other X-Men movie. Im a big Fassbender fan now, too.

Fantastic Mr Fox is probably one of my favourite films of the past few years.
It's got a little bit of everything that makes me smile.
Animation is classic, characters are lovable and memorable, Bill Murray has a part, dialogue is witty and pithy, soundtrack is tops.

Perfect little film.

Yeah. It's all too real. Very good film though.

I saw Source Code yesterday. Very enjoyable first half hour, I was intrigued. But then it started explaining things veeeeerrry slowly and the premise didn't quite take off. Then, of course, came the stock "yeah we can't be bothered rounding this off so here's some quasi-mystical bullshit" ending. Given I'd just rewatched Primer it was never going to seriously impress. 7/10

Just watched some classic Michael Douglas action, The Game. Haven't seen it since I saw it in the cinema. Just as good as I remember.
