Read all the books, more than once too, seen all the films, still think mythical beasts was crud.
Just watched Fast & Furious 6. The runway scene is beyond belief. No fucks were given by the director. Spoiler alert: http://www.vulture.com/2013/05/how-long-was-the-runway-in-fast-and-furious-6.html
Damn, The Great Wall was bad. I mean, I expected it to be mediocre at best, but its terribleness went far beyond my expectations.
You watched a film after expecting it to be mediocre?
Sounds a bit like watching Arsenal.

Have you never done that before?
mediocre? no. why would anyone?if you already know it to be ...mediocre. maybe check it out online where I can turn it off in a few minutes, but wouldn't sit through something in a theatre, expending money and effort.
haha, this is messed up. streaming the movie on youtube.
He never said he went to the theatre to see it.
I'm at a place where I only have access to internet on my phone, so I downloaded a couple of movies before I got here. Though I'll gladly admit that I sometimes join my friends who like Fast and the Furious etc. to the theatre despite not particularly liking those movies myself.
I enjoy them. I mean there's no way these films warrant that kind of hype, but if you switch you brain off and decide you can laugh at the sheer stupidity of them, you can enjoy it despite it having a largely god awful cast.
I just watched a korean flick called Tunnel. It might be the best film I've seen this year. Terrific miniature-scale disaster flick. It's about a bloke who's driving through a tunnel as it suddenly collapses and he gets trapped in his car underneath thousands of tons of rubble. There's a pug in the film too and it's honestly the best dog actor I've ever seen. Such acting shops. Much wow.
Finally watched Arrival. Simple, gripping science-fiction. Really well acted as well. Poor girl acted her ass off but was ignored by the academy.
I thought it was great too. It's a bit rare to see a film that knows exactly what it wants and how to obtain it within two hours of running time. I loved the tower of Babel theme in the story, which I realised was mostly a screenplay invention once I read the book. It was just bad luck that it was up against Moonlight in the best adapted screenplay category.

Never heard of it but gonna give it a try.
Train to Busan was great.
I'll add it to my watchlist. I'm also looking at some of the movies on this chart, going to watch I Saw the Devil tomorrow.

Have a look at the films that top the box office. Mediocre films are all the rage as long as it's got nice CGI and fronted by someone famous.
Also that's a useful chart Quincy.
You should go ahead and add The Wailing and The Age of Shadows to that list Quincy. Both came out last year and are excellent.
USArsenal told me he couldn't look at me the same way after admitting I thought Old boy was fantastic with a great twist.
