Think Gurgen has a point, but for me I think it is more a wider 'issue'; when you have a passion, something you are completely dedicated to, then it is quite likely that other areas get neglected. Footballers, live, breathe and organize their lives around football, and I bet a lot of them get a pretty narrow view of the world because of it. The same goes for any athlete, really. Doesn't have to be sports either IMO; people who are completely captivated by one thing are often quite boring to be around from my experience, because they don't have very much to say on issues outside their spheres of interest.
