But they left out a lot of shocking "rundown" cases from the decades before that, similar cases in which Scientology has effectively abducted people and forced them to perform menial tasks for months or years.
That bit where the wifes of the men that had left were interviewed on the news was particularly shocking. They were dragged right of out the hole for that one.
They are evil, but they are also smart. There are theories that former CIA agents extensively trained in non-violent torture are behind these programs. Which would help to explain their effectiveness. The musical chairs game in particular was brilliant. The best defense is attack-motto is another great idea. They handed the IRS their own ass and made them give up a billion dollar tax evasion lawsuit, plus give them religious status. That is incredible stuff.
