Kat.ph is probably the biggest torrent site now but I can send you an invite code to demonoid.pw if you want, Daz. It's a private site which is clean, has uploads regularly verified by mods, and has an active community that regularly comments so you get a good idea about the quality of torrents before you download. Being private it won't have everything though, so you'll occasionally have to look elsewhere for certain torrents.

Regarding popups and the like, windows defender is sufficient (installed and running by default), along with "ublock" for chrome, and "Malwarebytes antimalware" to be safe.

Cheers IG, much appreciated. I don't watch a great amount of movies or tv shows so anything that is 'clean' and has a decent catalogue would be perfect.

Popcorn Time isn't a torrent site. It is a streaming site, which is much better if you have decent internet speed, as you don't have to store anything on your computer. You can watch in on their player, or have the movie imported to VLC with a click of a button. I also don't recall any ads at all, but I have only used it for two movies so I may be wrong.
As for annoying or distasteful ads, I use Adblock. Cleans it right up.

They're planning to fine people who use Popcorn Time here in Denmark, and they've already done so in Germany apparently. Wasn't using it lately anyway, but it's a huge shame as I'm now stuck with feckin House of Cards, and some rubbish movies on Netflix.

Nah, the developers shut it down themselves. Then they made it open-source so that anyone who wanted to could continue developing it. It's close to impossible to take it down now, I'd think.

I couldn't handle Upstream Color, it was too difficult and frustrating a watch for me to enjoy. If a film's like that's going to work, it needs something to hook me early on, or at least exceptional sound/ cinematography/ acting. It didn't give me any of that, I was just so unaffected by it. And considering he asked for a "guaranteed 10/10" it's not the best shout to give. 😆

Also, can't remember if I've said on here yet, but Ida's the best film I've seen in a long time. Beautiful, couldn't recommend it enough.
