just back from batman. it was full of good moments, but just felt uneven, and consequently was my least favourite of the trilogy.
I agree.
Spoilers in white text:
I tried to keep an open mind and not let the hype ruin it but in the end I felt it wasn't nearly as well written as the first two. And far more far fetched. Granted a man running around in a bat suit is always going to be over the top but, relative to other films in the genre, the previous two films were understated which is what I liked the most.
You felt the story was contrived as soon as they introduced a fucking nuclear reactor into the script. With a count down clock! I thought those plots stopped after you get past Saturday morning cartoons. Ultimately there was too much to take on faith. Oh and there was too little Batman.
On the plus side, the last few scenes were very satisfying, the ost is epic and the entire cast was superb.
Don't get me wrong though, it was very good - didn't feel the hours go by at all - but I was left with a 'hang on a minute, why did he/she/they just do that?' feeling throughout.
I also see Ann Hathaway in a new light.
