I haven't seen any of the marketing, in fact I didn't know the film existed until two days ago when I read the Ebert review. I have no doubt it's egregiously bad, the film's definitely not that great 🙂

I watched the Dictator. It's not bad, agree with Burnwinter's 7/10 rating.

The Dictator is brilliant for the type of film it is. Easily an 8.5/10, you can go in get womfortable in your flip down seat take your brain out plop it into a jar you wont need it and just enjoy the movie.

I watched Goon last night. I loved it. It's like a mix between Slap Shot, Happy Gilmore and Waterboy.

Terrific entertainment. Seann William Scott plays this character who's too stupid to get into college or even speak in full sentences. He gets into a fight with a hockey player one day and some coach spots his talent for beating people up. He can't play hockey for shit but he's great at knocking opponents out cold. When they need to take someone out of a game they sub him on. At the end of the film he's clashing with Liev Schreiber's character who's a legendary brute in the sport and everybody cares more about their fight than the game itself. It's not particularly subtle but it's insanely funny at times.

Finally got around to The Inbetweeners movie earlier. Loved it. Much, much better than I was expecting.

Just watched this, hilarious stuff.

Watched Warrior earlier. Began and ended well with songs from the National. Enjoyed what was in between but felt it lacked a bit of depth. Not as good as The Fighter but worth a watch.

Didn't like either film, I really didn't feel either connected convincingly with the background of the protagonist. Bale ruined The Fighter with a mannered performance and Hardy vs Edgerton was just a bit shit in Warrior.

Get Loach or Herzog in to make a movie about NJ boxers I reckon. Then you'll get something worth watching.
