Its not mind games at all. He just talks shit constantly and then if he wins people say "oh Mourinhos mind games".

Exactly. Mind games 😆

Possibly the biggest wanker in world football.

I totally agree, just like Fergie.

He gets the mongs on social media wound up really good, so credit to him for that.

i used to like Mourinho, but his second stint in English football has shown him to be a proper arsehole. i guess there were signs when he was busy poking opponents' eyes in Spain

City and PSG have breached FFP rules. I'm assuming it'll be a slap on the wrist for a first time offence. I'm more interested to see how they assessed their respective sponsorship deals.

"They have received settlement offers from Uefa's club financial control board (CFBCB), who meet on Thursday."

Just a fine.

So the owners will take out their wallets and say "thanks, same time next year?" Not much of a deterrent.

It's not about what they continue to spend, it's about the money they don't spend as a consequence of FFP. These early sanctions (not just fines by the looks) are just a soft entry to a relatively tight system ...

"What I think is going to happen are measures over Champions League squads next season," says BBC Radio 5 live sports news correspondent Richard Conway.
"Perhaps a salary cap or limiting the number of eligible players in the squads, perhaps even making a new signings ineligible for the Champions League squad next year."

That would be more like it. Poxy fines are not going to worry mega rich clubs with billionaire owners, they'll just keep doing what they're doing and happily pay the fine each year.

I reckon the sanctions will come in, we just have to be patient and not expect miracles.

The megarich clubs will always be able to smuggle in extra spending under these rules, but the main thing is that they won't have a completely free hand as they have for the last decade. That will make a big difference to us.

Longer term, though, you'd think that any club with a decent revenue base, that can always spend up to the line because of deep-pocketed backers, will grow to a size where it can comfortably compete with us while still complying with FFP.

I really think a salary cap is the only way to deal with this.

Nah, salary caps is unnecessary meddling in the clubs' affairs. Forcing clubs to live within their resources is very good, can it be properly enforced, but then clubs should be able to decide by themselves how they use the money they generate.

FFP is much more scalable than salary cap. Even in the Premier League, you have some teams that make 100m pounds and other teams that make 300m pounds turnover. How do you enforce a salary cap for those two teams?

I'm not keen on the salary cap because it would disadvantage us. FFP on the other hand gives us a leg up. The justice of the system is pretty irrelevant to me.

😆

Well said.

Think UEFA have been pretty smart about their approach to this.
