Reading up, it looks as though PSG may well have to sort out their finances. Their ridiculous sponsorship deal has not met FFP standards. Expect them to get a strong slap on the wrists this time, but I think they'll be treading a fine line if they don't cut their cloth appropriately in the next year or so.
Bye Bye FFP?
Another incentive for them to sell Cavani then.
Especially since Cavani may be one of the players that will be disqualified from playing in the CL for them next season. That is, if I understand what has been mentioned correctly.
what you talking about Rex?
United will be all over this if true. Mourinho too.
We should be able to beat United to players we want. And if Chelsea out bid us on Cavani we could still go after Costa or vice versa.
Except these aren't the only clubs out there. Barca and Juventus come to mind. I can see Barca going nuts this summer as they prepare for the confirmation of their transfer ban. They need a striker. Maybe this avails their Chilean in the process.
I just know Wenger and Arsenal. We are not favorites for any player outside the 12-15m pound range
People had their eyes on Ozil. Same class of player too. Severe FFP sanctions of any kind are good for us but any on PSG are very good news. Cavani is very low return for money for them right now.
Cavani is going to cost over 100m pounds for transfer, fees, and wages. Cash we have in hand. Wenger would pass put at the thought though. On any case, Wenger's probably not endearing himself to PSG ownership with his rants on FFP
Hasn't Wenger acted as an advisor to PSG's owners already? Just advise them to sell us Cavani. Job done.
The owners of PSG also own Al Jazeera, he does commentary for them and advised them to buy PSG.

Why would Barca buy Cavani when they have Messi?
Juve aren't a threat financially.
Because they are over-reliant on Messi as a main scorer.
I could see Barca buying a striker but they need a strong manager who has a plan to integrate a #9. That's a huge change. They need a GK, two defenders, and a central midfielder before they need a striker as well. Outside chance at best IMO.

But they're not going to shunt Messi out onto the wing, and they're not going to bench Cavani. Messi would kick up a fuss like he did with Ibra.
they can play 2 up front. they don't have to be stuck to a 4 3 3.
Yes they do. Its one of the priciple philosphies of the club. They actually made a mission statement a few years back for the club, and playing 433 as their main formation was a big part of it.
Not that I have seen any proof of it, but if I understood what kind of sanctions UEFA have 'offered' to PSG, Man City (and other clubs in breach of FFP), then that would mean that they cannot play the players who are directly involved in putting the club outside of FFP in UEFA competitions. If so, then Cavani would surely be one of the players involved for PSG, and I reckon Navas, Negredo and Jovetic may be excluded for Man City.
IF that is what the penalty comes down to, then I can certainly see a fair few players kicking up a stink.
How do they determine that though?
From the limited info that has been floated in papers, it looks like City and PSG will have squad and wage bill caps for the CL. If that's the case it creates a second class of players, and depending on the severity of the wage caps they might have to leave some top players off the CL list instead of just young players and backups. That would cause some serious problems.
I have no idea, but UEFA must surely have some rules on that too. Excluding young players won't make much of a difference here either since they normally are bought for lower fees and are on lower wages. My guess, and what I hope for, is that clubs have to exclude the players who have actually pushed the club over the limit regarding FFP. In City's case that would most likely be the last batch of players they bought; Negredo, Navas, Fernandinho, Jovetic and Demichelis. If that is not enough then I suppose UEFA would target the players with newly improved contracts, like Yaya Toure...
One can only hope that is the deal! If so, then I reckon a fair few players are likely to want out, and I can see quite a bit of turmoil at the clubs that have to do this.
If Cavani is indeed the player who puts PSG over the limit, then we need to go get him. I'm sure this will just end up be a warning though. Suspended sentence once the Qataris get the world's best lawyers on the case
