Badstuber's gone for the season. But they'll survive.

Robben is always injured, but should be back in time for our tie.

I think our wage bill is higher than their's for 2012. Will have to check...

Badstuber is crocked. Leaves them with Boateng and...someone else in defence. First leg at home is an advantage and I think we can give ourselves something to hang on to in Germany.

If we try and play a controlled containing game we'll get destroyed. Have to tear in to them at home.

not really. champions league draws are relatively constrained. it's not like you can get 753 combinations of ties due to the fact that teams from the same group and same country cannot draw each other.

We beat Dortmund last season when they were the best team in Germany. This season Bayern have drawn against Valencia and got beaten by BATE Borisov. I would agree with those saying Bayern are favourites but I do think we have a chance against them. We need to get our act together fast though, we have shown against teams like Man City that even when on paper we appear much weaker we can give them a game so need to regain that kind of form.

Bit surprised by all those bringing how we beat the german champs last year as evidence we can match the leaders this year. Too many differences: first, Bayern has a huge experience in this competition. Then there's the general progress of German football (Dortmund topped their group, BTW. and they are still 9 pts behind Bayern in the league). Wasn't a knock out round. Dortmund were last in the group last year (beaten by giants like olympiacos and Marseilles). And we were not the same team (a tiny thing of VP beating Dortmund).

Not saying this means we can't do it, just maybe more proper to talk about this year: this year we played Schalke. Compare them to Bayern (and remember how we fared against them).

Just saw that the Bayern guys were all smile when they drew us. To be fair, only a few teams were easier than us.

Seriously nobody find it weird the guys don't even really see their slips they could read out confidently what team they picked? Mcmanaman seems to know he drew Manure for Madrid

Bottom line is we're big underdogs, but like most underdog, we have a chance. Now people can disagree how high (or low) those chances are, but you'd have to be deluded to put us favourites. Our concern right now is form. Let's see where we are in February and give it our best shot. Stranger things have happened.

Quite happy with the draw because for me this is what the CL is all about, facing the best in Europe.

They won't humiliate us, you can be sure about that.

In the past two season I believe we've only lost by 1 goal, and that was against the Champions of Spain in Barcelona where we had a man sent off for no reason and the Champions of Italy last season where we so nearly pulled it off.

Those games showed me that we can hang with the best of them in Europe on our day.

We just need to dig deep, defend well, get a little Chelsea-esque luck and we might end up doing something special this year in Europe. If you look at the draw we could end up with a very favorable run to the final because two of Madrid, United, Barcelona and Ac Milan will be eliminated.

In general maybe, but I disagree for us in this case. We don't know how to give solid, cagey performances away from home, unless we know exactly what we're trying to achieve. I reckon our best chance of getting any sort of result in Germany is if we have something to hang on to.

It was the only option.

Milan and Malaga were in the same group so couldn't face each other. And Barcelona could not be drawn with Real or Valencia (same country).

From the options left, it had to be Milan-Barca.

Isn't it time they scrapped the "same country" rule they can meet in the next round anyway so whats the big deal?

Thats why we will fail again, the only time we got to the final we played a very defensive counter attacking 4-5-Henry and nearly nicked the damn thing!
