Surely their new signings will improve their game! Can't under-estimate the impact players of the caliber of Di Maria and Falcao (if he can get up to speed) can make. Di Maria and Janujaz need to start IMO give them some pace up front, buit, they need to drop 3-5-2 to do that. Can't see them dropping 3-5-2 with RvP, Falcao and Rooney in the squad.

Let's hope they miss out this season too. They declared their results today and despite missing out on Champions League and the massive interest being paid, they have made a pretty decent profit. They miss out on top four this season and suddenly with their spends this season on transfers and increased wages, the bottom line starts looking different.

They will get back to the top sooner or later so this downfall is worth enjoying while it lasts.

today's results were for the fiscal year ending june 30th, 2014. champions league money for the 2014-15 season isn't distributed before that.

Is there any other club in Italy, France, Spain or England where the manager has been there for 18+ years? Or is Wenger really one of a kind.

After Fergie's departure Wenger is indeed one of a kind (correct me if I'm wrong). I think, at the beginning of last season, Wenger had been the manager of longer than all other Premier League managers' tenure at their respective clubs combined.
