He would have had more friends and influence around the club than Moyes, and especially resented him as an interloper even if he was anointed by Fergie.

Moyes is still headline news on ITV News at Ten - "the business reasons" for United sacking him.
They've labelled him "the ill chosen one" who threatened brand United.

It's unbelievable isn't it?
I mean even most of us here who are just non Utd fans and normal people couldn't believe it when he was appointed.
The job was simply too immense for him.
For the Utd board (supposedly intelligent business people) to be sucked in so much on the word of Fergie.
That's why Klaus' image comparing him to Death was so funny, the haunted look of terror and incomprehension on the face of one facing their inevitable destiny.
Plus he did look a little like Moyesy too. 😆

Man U were always going to spend this summer, but the hope was of course that it would be Moyes doing the spending. If they are not completely off their rockers over there, they will make sure they get a 'name' manager in. A person who instantly will get the respect of the locker room. Unfortunately, those guys tend to be rather good in the transfer market too!

Salvage what can be salvaged! Let us at least hope they take their time to get a new guy, hopefully equally underwhelming, so they at least can't buy anyone ahead of the WC. That would put immense pressure on the new guy to get things done - fast. Let us also pray that Giggs wins the last 3 games. I haven't given up hope they will give him the job permanently. 🙂

Managerment wise it makes them classless firing moyes with 3 non important fixtures left. And the way it came out doesn't help.

Giggs has gone from being a player / occasional cone boy to manager. If they win a few games he won't want to be laying cones next season.

Scholes is back too, took charge of training today.

They now have Giggs, Scholes, Nicky Butt, and Phil Neville. Only missing Gary Neville and Becks for the full class of '92 reunion.
