This puts top four under serious threat now.

I don't see anyone scraping 4th like before, the top four in England will be made up of team that can mount a decent title challenge with no stragglers.

Arsenal need to recognize this and spend big as the threat isn't just failing to win the league, but missing out on their "4th place trophy".

In a way the whole Moyes thing could be the best thing that happened to united. Whoever comes in now get judged against that twat rather than Ferguson, making his job massively easier. Maybe that was the whole plan all along, flush out the cobwebs with a year of shit, then get back to basic.

This is how I've felt most coaching changes go. Ask yourself, and this applies for any sport, how many successful teams have been able to replace a long tenured coach and achieve strong results with their next manager?

Very very few have accomplished it, and when it happens it often suggests more about their squad/depth then the manager. The psychology aspect is now in their hands where each player will have to impress for Giggs (this season) and the new coach (next season) to prove it was Moyes not them that was the issue.

You know they'll spend big too so as to put supporter's concerns somewhat to bed.

Feel quite sorry for the poor (rich) bastard. Should leave the country for a few years, do some humanitarian work in Kenya or summat, give his life some meaning. Then when he fucks that up, he can return with a new look and apply for the Tottenham job where he'll be back in his comfort zone. He's not a bad manager, people will realise that.
