No, but the point was that Moyes was chosen because he had shown he was capable of building a team on a budget at Everton. Not once or twice either but continuously throughout ten or twelve years of management. And his preferred style was already similar to United's brand of horribly boring football.
The most surprising thing about Moyes management so far isn't that United look poor - it's how he has spent his money. Almost £70 million wasted on Mata (who's not as good as Kagawa - who couldn't get a game to begin with in Moyes's kick and run system) and Fellaini (who can't play central midfield). Useless signings.
