Denilson was quality until his back went and he got fat.

I was going to say that it's no surprise Dag is keen on Cleverly. He's pretty much Denilson with a bit of hustle.

Don't think they're similar players.

They're similar in the sense that neither has any real outstanding attribute.

He'd be lucky to start for Sunderland I reckon. Ki is infinitely better and Colback is about as bad as Clev23.

I like him too. He's a cog and not an engine but he's a good player. It's easy to pick on the 23 year old midfielder with an unassuming playing style when the team underperforms

This is about as Denilsony as it gets.

They have somewhat similar roles, sure. I don't think they are similar as players.

Denilson was tidier but wimpier.

Denilson was a very bog average player with absolutely no outstanding qualities to mark him out, was he shit- No, was he a cunt like Gallas- No, he was the very defination of mediocrity.
That's why we always reference him when referring to Arsenal circa 08/11 as he played so much for us then he typifies that era perfectly,

I think Denilson's career went down because of motivational problems. He certainly had the potential to become a much better player than he did. Cleverley is a similar average to poor player. He's barely able to make a forward pass but if he puts his head down and works hard on his game he can become a solid PL midfielder. I certainly can't see him staying at United at the long term though.

I even think they are pushing the likes of Cleverley and Welbeck in their lineup purely because they are local lads who came through their academy, not because they are good enough. They just hope they emulate the past generation glory days.

Cleverley is miles better than Denilson ever was IMO. He isn't afraid of the physical side of life in the PL for one thing.

Looking at the lineup in our match- there was absolutely no reason they should be so bad.

Their fans are pathetic. If you think we overreact you should see those cunts. Absolute spineless whingers. All desperate to get Mourinho. Absolutely no self respect.

Cleverley has never had, and will never have as good a season as Denilson did in 2008/2009. Bloke set records for balls won in midfield.

Again, I respectfully disagree.
Qs, I think our fans who booed after the Man U game embarrassed themselves, and the rest of the fans too. I never condone booing myself, but especially not in a game where it was perfectly clear that everyone of our players were committed and worked their socks off.

The best is that they'd consider themselves like Arsenal, a traditional dignified club that doesn't change it's manager every year.
It's going to be fun to watch as they wrestle with this concept and the fact that the job is just too big for Moyes.

Not so sure it is too big a task for Moyes. Saw somewhere that he actually has amassed more points thus far than Fungus did his first year. It is a massive task to go from Everton to a gigantic club like Man U, and we know he did well at Everton. I think he will adapt, if given time.

Despite their shortcomings this season, I can well see a scenario next summer where we are in bigger need than them to get competent reinforcements in to be competitive next season.

Yeah but United weren't league champions coming off 2 decades of dominance when Fergie took over.

Yep they were a joke after a succession of flamboyant showmen like Tommy Docherty and Ron Atkinson.

True, but then again Fungus didn't have the problem of filling the boots of someone who is the most successful manager in the world.
I think most would have agreed a year ago that Moyes is a good, solid manager who had done a terrific job at Everton with limited resources. His performance so far at Man U, and Martinez' success at Everton, means that his cred certainly has taken a hit. However, in the adversity that Man U are facing, he has handled himself quite well. Getting rid of the bulk of the older guys in decline (Evra, Vidic, Rio), who are the most likely to question him and his methods, may be the best possible solution both for him and the club. I reckon they need 3 really good players to be right up there again; an Evra replacement, an experienced top class defender, and a top box to box midfielder. It is not beyond the realm of possibility that Moyes and his team learnt lessons from last summer. In fact, sealing the Mata deal is an indication of that IMO.

I honestly think they are more likely than we are to get the right players in next summer.
