Yes. One match changes very little, United had won what, six in a row before that?

Who else is there?
Liverpool are a one man team and it's only a matter of time before he implodes.

Everton obviously. Think United's grip on it is very tenuous.

it's hard to predict. i suspect there will be two races - one for the title with the financially doped teams + Arsenal; and another for 4th with United, Spurs and the Merseyside clubs. people should realise that despite being miserable, United probably need only 3 wins in a row to get into 4th. they're right there

They're there, but they suck and they continue to suck. Their XI just isn't better than Everton's taking balance into account, and most importantly they don't have confidence in their manager. They're a gifted rabble.

If they get even three points further from top I think some of those old pricks might start sandbagging to get Moyes sacked.

I'm really enjoying their demise. Previously high horse type Man Utd fans are flailing now, screaming injustice over their tenuous penalty claims yesterday.

Aw bless 'em

I am with qs; one mate of mine especially has been a proper pest since we last challenged. Gloating I can deal with, but he figured out that pitying us wound me up a lot more and he has been at it for years. Nice that the shoe is on the other foot now! God knows how long it will last though. 🙁

Thing about them, they ain't necessarily worse than last season. In fact, they probably played much better in the champions league than last season.

It is just when Ferguson's team is chasing back a goal, they always have the lucky break or the intensity to score that crucial goal. We have always wondered why is United always so jammy even when they are playing like shit, now with a manager who isn't all that with man management, it is showing.

Everton and Liverpool will definitely finish ahead of them, not sure about Spurs under Sherwood yet.

And Howard Webb has deserted them 🙂
He'd have awarded a couple of penalties yesterday if Fergie'd been in charge.

The glorification of Ferguson is both annoying and off the mark in my opinion. He wouldn't have done much better this season than Moyes has with this squad. It's entirely possible that his staff would have sorted out the transfer business however instead of leaving him two players short in midfield.

Yep, the crafty old bugger knew to get out when the ship was sinking.
Y'see when teams win all the time they develop an aura, their opponents don't believe they'll get anything (like a penalty at OT) and they themselves believe they will, so the whole thing becomes self-fulfilling.
Now of course they've lost that aura and that self belief and every opponent smells blood.
It's a real shame we couldn't have got at least a point there, never mind we have another chance.

Think Utd would definitely have more points this season under Fergie. He knew the players and knew what his best team was for any given game. Moyes still doesnt know how he wants to set up and who can do what and when.

Early days yet but when you see what Martinez has achieved with Everton so far it looks like they got the better of it. 😆

Ferguson would certainly have this same Man U squad near the top IMO. It is his squad, and he knows the players' strengths and weaknesses.

Look, stepping into Fergusons shoes was always going to be a massive task even for a top world class tactician and man manager.
But for someone who's never won anything?

And then let go of most first team coaches......😆

You're letting bitterness cloud your judgement. Fergie would definitely have them at the very least still in the top 4.

Think I am one of the biggest Fergie hater here and I don't rate him as highly as some do because I am of the opinion Manure spends alot every season to get the success he had, but I think this season really put alot of things into perspective about how good he is.

Yeah, for me it isn't even a debate. Man U would be higher up the table if Ferguson was still in charge and they certainly wouldn't have dropped some of the points they have done at home. You don't go from almost 30 years under someone like Ferguson to a complete no-mark like Moyes. They've lost their aura through it and none will feel it more than the players themselves.

And I love it.

Wonder if there is a contingency plan in temporarily reinstate Fungus if things don't pick up soon. Man U outside the top 4 cannot be acceptable by them.

Fergie would be a fool to go back.

Frankly I think they'd be far better off if he'd just fuck off completely.

Don't underestimate the drive and commitment in guys like Wenger and Fungus. It may not be in Fungus' best interest to go back for his legacy, but I think he misses it enormously.

the odious baying smugness out of the Manc lot now. Always on their high horse. Whenever they get flukey wins it's always "you create your own luck". Now the plonkers on redcafe claim we're jammy cunts.

If someone could be arsed wading through that sewer, maybe they could compile some of the bitterest funny bits for us.

The best is them all wailing about Young, one of the biggest cheats in the league, not getting a penalty that was debatable anyway. And against Spurs who they've had so many decisions against over the years.

But yeah you create your own luck and sure it all evens out in the long run.

😆 Has Howard Webb given a peno since Fergie retired?

Don't think so 🙂

Anyone know how much the United penalty awarded count has decreased since Fergie ran out of the place?

Webb must feel a little like Van Persie, since Fergie ran out on both of them.
Bit lost, don't know what to do with themselves...

From RedCafe:

I'm still enjoying the season

It's like a whole new experience. And defeats don't hurt nearly as bad as when you are in a title race.

I guess it's like supporting spurs

Reply to that post:

I agree with you actually. We're so shite its fun watching how we can physically be worse than last week, yet we manage it without fail.

"I don't even get that hurty feeling when we lose anymore"

RvP must be uploading his statement to his website right now.

Redcafe:

His post-match interviews are pathetic. As one of my mates just said, "he's like a chemically castrated Malcolm Tucker". He's a nothing manager.

😆

Defend make any attempt to defend Fabio. Strange.

The little boy inside him must be balling his eyes out

Hopefully Moyes sticks around for this transfer window and the summer, long enough to make at least a few more Fellainiesque signings.

Their squad is seriously mediocre and any manager would have a lot of work cut out for them. Deadwood ( Fabio, Anderson, Buttner), players who were once decent but for whatever reason look lost (Valencia, Young, Cleverley), too old or approaching that age (Ferdinand, Evra, Giggs, possibly Vidic). No doubt the likes of Rooney and RVP will be looking to jump ship sooner rather than later as well

Mike Dean. He surely must be retarded ... 😆
