Kagawa actually makes runs and wants the ball to space every once in a while. Cazorla always wants the ball to his feet. 🙂
I love Santi to death, and all things considered he is a better player than Kagawa. However, there is a lot of logic behind rather wanting Kagawa on this team over him.

I did raise the question about this on here, a couple of days after signing Özil I think, whether his game would be affected negatively by Özil; I was playing the devil's advocate. So far, I think what we are seeing is just Cazorla finding his feet coming back after injury. Not really worried, because they are too good players the pair of them. I think the team as a whole will benefit of not being as reliant on creativity from Cazorla as we were last season. However, I do notice there are a few on here already rumbling about Cazorla's output.

A few numpties.

On Kagawa, I really like him as a player, but I don't think all of his problems at Utd have been down to the managers. Biggest issue with him for me is that he is an absolute waif, and he really doesn't look like he's come to terms with the physicality of the Premier League.

Kagawa is really poor at the moment, and it's down to him as much as his teammates and manager. Looks like half the player Cazorla is in Premier League.

And I'm a huge Kagawa fan. He was one of my favourite non-Arsenal player when he played for Dortmund.

Wonder where he'll be playing next season.

Has Kagawa been given a decent run at all at Man U? Also, he was out injured for quite a while? We have seen/see the effects of that closer to home.

He's getting a run right now and he's wasting it. Based on his talent and United's desperate need for someone like him you'd expect him to make a better fist of it.

I don't think Kagawa is cut out to be the main creative player of a top level team, he's nowhere near the likes of Özil or Fabregas. He's more of a complimentary playmaker for a top team. If he's not willing/able to play well from the wings he'll have to go a smaller club to play #10 every week.

He looks far better in the CL than he does in the league.

Kagawa looked ace at Dortmund. When we played them he looked like a Park who they paid 20m for.

I don't think the £16m a year for RVP is outrageous. He won them the title for starters; how do you put a price on that? Secondly, his game isn't based on speed or quickness; he will be a very good player even in his mid thirties. Thirdly, Man U has a fantastic spending power; they can well absorb that cost without it preventing them too much in investing in other players. Also, they are bound to get a few high earners off their wage bill soon enough.

I think last summer illustrated perfectly that their spending power is anything but 'fantastic'.

Don't think it had too much to do with money not being available.

I should rephrase, they have a shit load of money to spend, even with the van Persie money and the interest payments and what not, but with the 350m debt still left you wonder what restrictions may be on Moyes in actually spending that money?

It's speculation on my part, but there were several positions where they needed to buy and yet all they were looking for was a centre mid. They went in for Cesc yet barely broke the £30m barrier, hardly a test of Barcelona's resolve.

United are signing a crazy new deal with Nike and they've already got deal signed with Chevrolet, they'll be flush with cash for the summer transfer market.

United is probably the worst club for Kagawa, because they are very british in the way they play, 4-4-2 wingplays generally.

When they setup for european games with Kagawa in the hole, he is utterly impressive. They played him in his natural position and he scored a hattrick against Norwich. If he had chosen us over United, he would probably continue to be one of the best goalscoring playmakers in europe due to the way we setup.

RVP transfer request according to Lawro.
