it's more of a spanish tax question, but zero boot for herrera there, no?
Lets all laugh at Man Utd.
Burnsy: No, sorry. I'm not even sure where I read it. I can try and find the source later on today.
The idea is usually that the buying club circumvents this scenario by simply offering the selling club the full amount of the buyout clause up front (this would explain the reports about United trying to 'negotiate down' the buyout clause). Bilbao weren't interested in selling Herrera at all, though, and refused any dealings with United. Que the three amigos, I suppose.
Ah, right. The refusal to deal with the other party to the cash transfer could have legal relevance I don't understand, I guess.
Tell you one thing, if I agreed to a buyout clause on my employment contract, I'd have my lawyer try to make sure it wasn't secretly half again as big as it appeared to be if the club decided to be dicks about it. After all, the whole point of the clause is it's something you fall back on when your club are being dicks.
This summer appears to have shown there's a gap in the legal marketplace for people with a real clue about how to get results on football transfers - just look at us and Suarez's pseudo-clause.
Bilbao are an interesting club to have around. I kind of enjoy the whole romance of how they never sell their Basque players, who neverthless all eventually want to leave if they're any good.

"Moyes eyes bulged as the short sharp icy shock of failure gripped his loins. Herrera was not coming. He had never been coming. And Leighton Baines was now a prospect as distant as a moment of comfort from his wife that evening."
Utd fans are actually bitter beyond Tottenham levels, they're saying things like "Ozil would have chosen us ahead of Arsenal if we had bid for him", "Ozil is overrated" and that "Ozil will be another Arshavin.
Astounding really. Fuck 'em though, we've got the best player in the league
RvP is saying he is happy at Man Utd, while those Daily Star quotes are amusing can't say I'd believe what they would write!
Can't say he'd be happy after a couple of months under Moyes.

Yeah, it's a nothing article.

Article on David Moyes lack of interest in Shinji Kagawa. I hope he continues to not use him. With Fellaini on board, Shinji will probably just end up being cover on the wings for the likes of Young and Giggs.
If I were at United, my front four would be Rooney, Kagawa, RvP and Nani. How Welbeck, Giggs and Nani are beating out some of those players weekly is beyond me.
Welbeck has started the season very well.

Probably why Moyes never really looked at Ozil.
