Glad to hear it's not just me; refs are ridiculously strict in it. Other than that, I'm really starting to get used to it. Only thing I still haven't got the hang of at all really is heading, which seems to change dramatically from game to game. Scored some nice free kicks already.
Five has the best balance of attack and defence and you really have to work for your goals. It's not perfect but it's the best football game to be released so far.
Six was stupid; ref never made calls, defending was rubbish, keepers were rubbish and the higher reputation players broke the game.
Basically, like I said, 5 had potential to be a top game but for the ref blowing his whistle at the slightest breeze blowing nearby. It was way too frustrating for me.I'd rather the ref hardly blow his whistle for stronger challenges than one who blows as soon as you get within 2 feet of someone. It kills the whole flow of the game.
Agree with Loyan about the refereeing but agree with Capi that it's much more of a challenge to score too (defending isn't too difficult, pretty easy in fact). Pro 4 was too easy to score in general and Pro 6 was too easy from long-range.
The R1 chips in Pro 6 were too easy. Way too easy.
Not as easy as they were in 4. If you set the R1 chip to be executed by double tapping square you could score 100% of the time when clean through.
Currently playing FIFA 11, gotta say its a good game, fifa series have really improved alot since I last played it.

Just finised my second season on football manager. 91 points and I came second to Liverpool on 94, lost the second last game of the season to Wolves at home. Lost the FA cup final 1-0 to Wigan and then lost by the same score to Juventus in the champs league final. FML.

Football Manager 2011's transfer engine is faulty. Loads of awesome players get transfer listed every year and it is ridiculously difficult to offload your good players. Ronaldo, Balotelli, Maicon and Dzeko were transfer listed at the end of my first year in one of the saves.
It is good only when you are playing for a smallish club and get good players easily, but the lack of realism ends up killing my enthusiasm all the time.
Picked up Batman: Arkham Asylum there on Steam for €7.50 yesterday. I've been playing it a couple of hours this evening, it seems pretty good. It reminds me of Bioshock quite a lot.
That was a quality game - had a day off work, and completed it in about 20 hours. The missus was pretty grumpy...
Got COD Black Ops for Christmas - not going to start it until I've finished assasins creed.
Yeah, kinda the same myself. Bought Assasin's creed 2 in November for my brothers birthday and haven't finished it yet. Was also bought Assasin's Creed 2 and COD: Black Ops (though I'm shit at COD games in general) although probably won't have any time to play through them until January 17 once I've completed my Semester A exams.
Had to buy COD, playing with friends online when we all have mic's is awesome.
After months, nay years, of procrastination, I finally took the plunge and picked up a PS3 a couple of days ago. Mainly so I could play Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare, getting quite into that. Also got Pro Evo 2011 and Alien Vs Predator.
Will be starting on the Master League once I've got used to the new game, and the transfer window's shut!
Pro Evo is pathetic. The master league is unplayble, especially the transfer part compared to fifa 11 career mode

I had a similar mind blank when I was thinking about it, pretty much only came up with FF7. PSone was probably one of my least favourite consoles but I've got a working emulator on my phone so am looking for suggestions. Beat 'em ups are probably a no-no but everything else should be okay.
I remember thinking Metal Gear Solid was head and shoulders above everything else when i played it.
Don't think a game like that would have much entertainment value now though, so i'd go for something like Tekken or Crash Bandicoot, Wipeout maybe.
