Got an xbox s after selling my PS4 (sold for £200, got the xbox for £250 and also used a £30 voucher!), liking it so far on my new 4k TV, looks amazing and runs buttery smooth. Only playing pick-up-and-play games so far as I don't have the time to invest into open wold games. So far Forza has been my favourite. Had a go at Fifa but found it frustrating. Waiting to try the new COD. I haven't paid for these games yet, trying the xbox pass which I got on offer for £20 for 3 months.

One thing that's great is the reduction in load up times as its on a solid state hard drive.

I tried for the PS5 too, not very hard though. After sitting through the bullshit of its in your cart, crash, move to address detail, crash, move to basket, crash, confirm, crash, oh actually there are no more presales a few months ago I wasn't keen to try that hard again, especially considering the demand. Bit disappointed but given that all the games are on PS4 anyway I'll survive. More worried that the demand will continue to out pace supply and we'll get a situation like this every time they release a batch of them for the next 2 years.

I'll wait until its back on shelves, which is forecast for around april-may. Looking forward to the new god of war in particular

I'd be happy if I could get one then but like I say I'm worried they'll still have a lack of stock at that stage. The way the Switch became so hard to come by is worrying.

Should be okay. As you say, neither console is building an arsenal of exclusives yet and specifically for the PS5 there will be a learning curve for developers on the DualSense so it might be a while til we have definitively better 3rd party games that incorporate both that and the visual improvements. I’m waiting til they figure out how to get the PS5 down to original PS4 size 😆 either that or I get rich and get a den.

The moment Starfield comes out I'm getting the Xbox. I assume it'll be out roughly a year from now with an Elder Scrolls following in 2022. I can't really see these games or the next Fallout making it to the PS5, it's too good an advantage to let go of.

I wanted a next gen console to play Cyberpunk this Christmas, but I think the current generation versions have been optimised well enough with all the delays.

As for the Bethesda games... I don't know. Depends on what will make Microsoft more money I guess, PS owners switching to Xbox or selling more copies of the game. I could see them going with some timed exclusive thing or having extra exclusive content on the Xbox.

Is CYBERPUNK going to be good? Got to say that one piqued my interest, but I'd want it to be a richer experience than THE WITCHER, which I got bored with by the time Geralt arrived at Skellige.

There's no exclusive the could top the Demon Souls remake for me.

Just too bad consoles are so bloody expensive, and I don't get nearly enough time to play to make it worth it.

If Microsoft hang on to the Bethesda suite I'll be switching to the XBox - it's already tempting given how much larger the PS5 box is, and because I enjoyed Halo. The new PS5 controllers sound great though with the haptic feedback.

I really just want the new Battlefield and new Fallout whenever that comes out.

The more I think about the more I think free on game pass and €80 on PS5 is probably a better sales tool than pure exclusivity for Xbox. I've already settled into the idea of buying both consoles based on that.

I felt the same about Witcher but went back to it again about a month ago because its so popular, convinced I'd missed out on something. I hadn't the controls are way too clunky, the exploration is more work than fun and graphically its way over rated. People tend to love the writing in it but that didn't draw me in at all either.

I've high hopes for Cyberpunk though, it looks a lot slicker, seems to have more freedom to the way you play and it looks great.

I wish Cyberpunk was 3rd persion as I tend to prefer those games. This one was originally intended as one, but I would hope there's a good reason other than it being easier to create animations for 1st person.

I'm not sure we are the point yet where you'll get a 3rd person RPG of this depth that doesn't feel like shit to play. I'd find it very hard going from games like Spiderman, Horizon, GoT, etc where the controls are so fluid to playing a cyber version of Witcher. 1st person removes a lot of that. Maybe later in the new generation they'll manage to combine that level of animation and control with as deep and rich a world as I'm hoping we get with Cyberpunk.

3rd person is one of the biggest reasons I can't stand The Witcher 3 too. It has a forced perspective feeling to it that makes the surroundings feel small and weird in most RPGs. Even when the overarching systems remain the same, like in Skyrim and Fallout 4, the difference between the 1st and 3rd person viewpoints is like night and day. One is a proper atmospheric game that looks and feels exciting, the other is a dollhouse.

I think 3rd person works far better in games like Breath of the Wild that have simpler systems and are mechanically richer.

Is it worth waiting for the next gen version of Cyberpunk?

Also, given that the current gen version is cheaper, but you get a free upgrade, are we better off just buying it now regardless?

Don't think the next-gen version will be more expensive since it's included in the curent-gen version to be honest.

What do you mean will cost, will there be another version later or can you now actually choose between buying it for PS4 and getting PS5 version included or buying the PS5 version for £20 more? Here they only sell one that's "PS4 incl. PS5" that's £30 at the moment.
