i'd recommend checking Epic Games Store every fortnight for their free games, they often give away some good stuff. From the beginning of last year they've given away GTA V, Crashlands, Gone Home, The Stanley Parable, Celeste, Towerfall Ascension, The Wolf Among Us, Rayman Legends, the Arkham trilogy, Inside, This War of Mine, The Witness, Super Meat Boy and Fez. My only computer for the time being is an ultrabook so I haven't tried any of the games, but you only need to press the buy button and they're yours.

Yep it's a good source for great games. The next two giveaways this month will apparently be Borderlands: The Handsome Collection and Ark Survival Evolved. Both of them are pretty good too.

Yeah, I heard about the GTA giveaway. Apparently it caused their servers to crash 😆

Amazing considering GTA 5 has been out for a decade now.

I prefer the clean design of the Xbox to be honest, but I'll buy the PS5 for the games. It does look like how a Playstation would look if Tom Cruise played on one in the movie Oblivion.

The games I'm most excited by from the event are

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (the first new R&C game since PS3)
Horizon: Forbidden West (the first one has some of my favorite gameplay on PS4)
Death Loop (looks like it uses similar mechanics as Dishonored, by the same developers)
Insomniac's next Spider-Man
Resident Evil: Village (never played any of these, but this one had more of a gothic horror style than I think is usual in the series)
Little Devil Inside looked charming as well, but I'm automatically sceptical of Kickstarter products

Edit: Oh, and although the ditigal only version will be cheaper, there have been countless instances where I find a good offer for a game on a physical disc where the price on the PS store is two-three times more expensive.

Think it looks beautiful. But I would've expected something more subtle given that a lot of people need this thing to fit into their decor. My PS4 is the most obtrusive thing in my house. This thing wouldn't be allowed in the door.

It’s aimed at gamers basically rather than old farts like me who want it to look good (or small enough to be hidden) in the living room.

I’m not buying either at £500 but I think I may actually stick with the Xbox if I do eventually go for either, if nothing else so I get to keep all my games. PS5 May have the better games but honestly there are not many on the PS4 that make me regret buying the Xbox One.

Ugly. I guess there's probably some marketing theory where it's got to be distinctive enough that people realise you've got one when they're in your space.

Who knows. Once their processes were mature they went and halved the size of the previous PS4 - probably as much for cost saving as well as aesthetic benefits. That shit looks like it could fly to the moon

Not bothered about the looks but agreed on the positioning of the left analogue stick. The original X Box control still remains the best I've ever used.

I don't really care how it looks. I'd probably rather it was black but at the end of the day they are all giant ugly boxes and making them more boring looking isn't fooling anyone, you are still a grown man playing video games.

😆 As long as it doesn't sound like a jet engine I don't care about the design engineering either.

It's a bit expensive though.

They haven't even announced the price. The prices you see on websites are just so they can list the item for pre-order, and most choose a price they're confident is more expensive than the console will be because it's easier to refund some of it than ask for more once the actual price is announced. It's listed at £820 where I ordered it, but the price I pay will be the same as what everyone else pays.

You're still looking at £500+ then another £60 for each game, controller etc you buy, you're probably looking at having to spend at least £750 on the initial purchase and a small catalogue of games. If it's putting me off I can only imagine how parents will feel about it.

Of course, but when he said it's a bit expensive I assume he referred to the prices it's listed at. Then again, even the total price you're calculating is half an iPhone nowadays.
