I'm going to start Skyrim for the first time in a few days time, any must have mods that you guys would recommend?
Which format? You can pretty much forget about finding many decent mods for PS4 unfortunately, but if you're on Xbox or PC you should be fine.
I'd reiterate what Gurgen said above and play the vanilla version first for a little while to get a feel for it. There are a bunch of excellent mods that keep adding to the fun once you're familiar with the world though. Download The Unofficial Patch right away and put it at the top of your load order. It's invaluable since it not only fixes a ton of bugs and flaws in Skyrim that Bethesda haven't covered, it's also geared towards compatibility with mods.
I'd strongly recommend The Forgotten City which is not only the best quest mod; it would have been the best DLC to Skyrim, period, if it had been released by Bethesda themselves. It requires a decent level though. I wouldn't touch it below Lv 20. I think it'll sync up nicely with your natural progression. That should be right around the time you're starting to work your way west on the map.
Climates of Tamriel is a must too. It's incredible. It contains too much stuff to mention in one post, but you can read about it here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/17802/?
It goes great with something like Project Hippie, which places a lot of trees inside cities and such to give them a more natural, less boring look. It tweaks the lightning too for some sublime effects. It really makes the world seem more alive and richer in colour. Lush Overhaul is another mod that goes great with both of them. It overhauls the trees and the flora in Skyrim to make them appear thicker and bushier. Rain and Snow FX gives you greatly improved precipitation.
Ordinator is another big one that makes the game richer. It's a complete overhaul of the perk tree: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/68425/?
There are a bunch of smaller ones like Cutting Room Floor (restores a bunch of missing content that got cut from the original release), Ars Metallica (lets you craft arrows, lockpicks, etc), Bridges of Skyrim (nice stone bridges in a few places), Lanterns of Skyrim (places lanterns along the major roads which is nice when you're travelling by foot at night), Immersive Citizens (improves AI behaviour for NPC:s), etc. There are literally thousands more of them, but these should get you started. They won't help you much if you're on PS4 though; I think Ars Metallica is the only one above that works on that console. Blame Sony.
