People are sheep and they follow suit disliking it before they've even got an understanding for the mechanics of the game, the story, the multiplayer etc.

They see that it's set in space and hit dislike. Idiotic. COD can't just stay boots on the ground for 15 years in a row, it'll become sour and boring. Taking it to new levels is an inevitability. Eventually it will go back to it's roots of jungle/ww2 scenery, but just give it a chance before saying it's terrible. People usually make emotional decisions and not well informed ones.

The original trailer was universally hated on, but then when the Dark Skies game play came out, most people said it looked class.

Whatever happens, I can't wait to get into my jet fighter and boost upwards into space at Mack 3, where I battle other starships. Groundbreaking stuff for the game and it should be anticipated not parred off because it's not to someones taste. Just go and play Battlefield if people don't like it.

Watched a review on cowboy, and it isn't really what I'm looking for in a game with the limited titles I play in a year.

Ok, thoughts on Witcher 3 when I'm a few hours into it, then. Should probably say that I'm pretty much only in the beginning yet; in the main story I suppose it is chapter 2, trying to track down Ciri.
I like the game. Fallout and Skyrim are two of my favorite games ever, so naturally I'm going to like this because of the similarities. Having said that, I don't think this game, so far at least, is as good.
It seems to take forever to level up! Wanted to move forward with the story just to realize I'm nowhere near strong enough. So, back to beginning at White Orchard, really delving into the world. Having gone to every damn location on the map, doing mini quests and all, I'm still only at level fucking 4! Feels slow that way. I also don't really like the map with question marks where you are supposed to go; much prefer the blank map where you have to discover shit for yourself.
Still think moving Geralt around is clumsy, but I've got used to it I guess. Especially annoying when you have to be perfectly positioned to interact with an object.
There is no way I'm going to take the time to learn that card game, Gwent. Please tell me I don't have to!
I've collected a fuckload of herbs and shit, but so far I fail to see any real relevance to Alchemy. Except for destroying monster nest that is. 🙂 At this point, that means I don't know what of all the stuff I've collected that is relevant; at this point, that makes the carry weight a bit of a problem. Think this whole section of the game is unnecessarily complicated.
Same is true for using signs. It's a right pain in the ass to keep track of which sign is effective against which creatures. It's complicated enough to keep track of which sword to use...
Why do I have to get to one of those sign posts to fast travel? Annoying! Even more annoying here - why do I have to get off my horse to fast travel?! In fact, it is a bit weak that you can't to any interaction while riding.

Realize this is mostly a rant, but that's not quite fair. Despite these flaws I like the game, but I hope it improves I guess.

Signs are definitely fun as your character develops, but for me at least Alchemy and Crafting remain a bit of a snoozefest, apart from acquiring new decoctions and oils to power up against specific foes.

The rate at which you level up isn't really a problem as the game continues.

I'm back into Battlefield 4 - I really love this game. Much better than Hardline - the levelling up graphics and processes are much more fulfilling and clear.

Plus I'm actually quite good at it now.

And I was on the winning side for a 1-0 victory on the weekend - quite amazing. Down 25-8 and came back 1-0.

I have a Witcher 3 question, how long does it take for the game to get going and become fun? Typically big games have a slow start and I'm not sure I have the time and patience to deal with that at the moment.

I'm honestly not sure how you managed that.

You don't get as much exp. for doing side quests as you do for completing the main quest. So one main quest should see you jump up a level easily.

I would do side quests/contracts sparingly until you get through the Bloody Baron quest line. I would also take the recommended level with a pinch of salt as well, you can easily do quests that are a couple of levels higher.

Also - your character should pull out the right sword automatically. You don't have to keep track.

Disagree - signs are overrated apart from the shield which you need to survive.

Using alchemy practically makes you invincible while fighting by the end of the game because of the number of critical hits increase.

I don't play other games than the obvious GotY candidates + FIFA. I sucked at Witcher 3 in the beginning and constantly died fighting Drowners, but Rex, you seem even worse than me. 😆

Re signs, crafting and alchemy, I used Quen (the shield thing?) all the time, some times the fire sign. I didn't spend much time with crafting. Googled what armor and sword I should use and did the side quests needed to get them. Alchemy.. Nope.
