Got the game cos it was on steam sale for a good discount (previously was very minor discounts). To be honest the basic lore doesn't appear to be too different from the usual run-of-the mill dwarves-and-elves-and-someweirdo. But the overarching story does feel a bit more fresh. It feels like they've tried to keep to the familiar but introduce the extra kinks in just to freshen it up.
The RPG system feels a little too D&D, but the mechanics in how some classes work are more interesting.
The good thing though is that it's engrossing in a way many similar attempts can fail to be. As such, even though the game engine immediately feels dated in the intro missions, you quickly forget about it. I'd recommend it based on what I've seen so far.
