It's not really a new thing, if anything games have dumbed down in the past 10 years to suit console players. The original dungeons and dragons board game came with several guides/instruction manuals for people to refer to. The reason people find it fun is because of the immersion value but, I agree, it can be draining if you prefer to game in between work/during time off

Wow guides and manuals. Then again maybe it's more common in PC games, and I don't think I've never been much of a PC gamer. I did feel games like Ocarina of Time back in those days was super immersive and remember playing that game for so many hours when I was around 10 or 11. Nowadays I'm stuck still trying to find the time to even start playing Skyrim or LoU that I purchased recently on the recommendations here. The boxes are still sealed lol.

In the quest Klaus refers to it wasn't really that difficult tbh. Klaus probably needed to take notes, but your average 13 year old probably managed this puzzle without notes. 🙂

Yeah I have level 4 on that perk and my sniper rifle modded fully, plus I have the ninja perk maxed. Gives me around 130 stopping power by 3.5 when I snipe undected. Going to add that perk that gives you a bonus for silenced weapons soon.

Feels a bit like cheating though, doesn't it? Mutants, raiders, ghouls, Forged, Gunners - they are no real match, and especially so if you are in power armor. Only thing that bothers me now even slightly is when you get across a deathclaw.

I've fixed up Sanctuary to my liking now, and my next project is the Castle. Have all important trade routes in place, and have decided to just focus on three or four settlements that are easy to defend. Costs a lot of caps, but I've also set up quite a few businesses. Makes the settlers happy, gives revenue, and I don't have to travel too much for selling shit.

Another Railroad quest had me annoyed now; trying to put a Tinker Tom gizmo in place, and I can't seem to find the damn place where to put it. Beginning to think it's another bug.

I almost never use power armor. I just don't like it. I like sneaking. Working on my armor perk now so I can get the ballastic weave to its highest level. Then I'm gonna level up sneak and that silencer perk. After that I'm just gonna go with random fun perks. Probably a lot of the Luck based ones.

You sneak very well in power armor! What kind of armor do you use? I'm still rocking that Silver Shroud armor. I haven't kept any of the other stuff you get across. The main advantage with the power armor is that you can carry a lot more stuff around.

When I can I sneak around in a lab coat to get the extra XP but if I'm somewhere with a lot of enemies I use a mix of combat, synth and leather most of which have legendary effects. I also have deep pockets on them all because I've got low strength so its hand for carrying. There is a mission that unlocks an armor mod called ballastic weave that I have too, that allows you to upgrade normal clothes like suits, army fatigues, hats, etc to have up to 110 defence. I've one perk point to go to get armorer maxed then I'm gonna stick with that as its quieter than wearing armor. Though I'll probably still carry the armor for the effects if I need it.

Would have got lvl 4 armorer last night but I leveled up beside a master safe and couldn't resist getting moster locksmith perk to open it instead.

You could upgrade your power armor instead to Stealth Boy status. Means you get almost invisible when you crouch.

Speaking of power armor, I was curious what that Vault Boy light would do, so I added that. How annoying was that?!

Nah I just don't like the power armor much. I don't like the HUD when its on. Its ok for a quick go here and there but there is no way I want to be using it constantly. I'll probably mod it up late game for a bit of fun but I'm just not bothered with it.

I've done so much for those Sanctuary settlers, and yet their happiness drops as soon as I go away. Cunts.
Got the Castle up to scratch now though. Realized you could fix the holes in walls quite nicely by using shack foundations and shack floors. Means you get the holes fixed, and the flooring on top of the foundation blocks allows you to move freely on top of the wall all around the castle. Just having one or two entrances makes the place easier to defend properly. Think I want to get the perks to get a trade emporium going. 🙂

Think you can change the HUD colors in the settings, but not sure if you can do so for power armor.

I've done almost nothing with my settlements yet. Though I started building up Red Rocket a little last night as its my main crafting are so I want settlers to farm and scavenge for me. Till now I've been paying for a lot of shipments of materials out of handiness.

I don't use Red Rocket at all. Sanctuary is my main base, and it makes sense too because you have to go there to report to Garvey all the time about successful missions. There's also more stuff there to scrap to add to your junk when building stuff.

Sanctuary's my main base too. I've spent a lot of time building up the smaller, odd settlements you stumble upon here and there though. The boathouse and the greenhouse are two of my favourites. They just look wonderfully odd.

Yeah, boathouse and Greentop are sort of in my plans as well. I've spent more time with Zimonja so far though because those idiots seem to get hit by raiders all the time.

I just maxed my relationship with here so I'm dropping her very soon. Her terrible Oirish accent has been a real pain to listen to. I've beed her and Hacock now. Thinking McCready is next because I heard the perk he gives is a good one.

Do the companion perks work even when you aren't with that companion?

I use Red Rocket because I have no weapons work bench at Sanctuary. Got Spectacle Island as a settlement last night. Its pretty massive so I might build that up first when I start focussing on that side of the game.
