Last of Us is the best single player game I've played, but Witcher 3 lasts much longer. I wouldn't put GTA 5 and Arkham Knight in the same bracket as those two.

Still need to get around to Last of Us. Just haven't had much time for gaming lately. Had it on PS3 for a while then in Xmas sales the PS4 version was half price - so traded in the unopened PS3 version to knock that in half again and get it for next to nothing. Must get to it!

Witcher 3 is great. All the hype is justified. I guess if I'm looking for a flaw, it's that it's not addictive enough maybe.

GTA 5 is also a great game. Single player mode in itself is worth buying it for, but the online side is superb. That is when the servers are working. The big drawback is that you will often find yourself stuck in loading screens.

Only played a tiny bit of TLOU, but also heard superb reviews.

Maybe it comes down to your taste? GTA5 online mode is the most fun out of all the games, while The Witcher 3 I found to be the most impressive and immersive. If you've played past GTA games, then this is more of the same. Witcher has something special about it, even if its best traits are less about the gameplay, and more about the story, the characters, the atmosphere etc. More of a must-play in my opinion.

played them all. in order of preference:

TLOU - Hands down the best looking game on next gen consoles, and an actual compelling story
Witcher 3 - best console RPG
GTA 5 - speaks for itself
Arkham Knight - solid, but won't blow your mind if you've played previous entries

Last Of Us - good game in the Naughty Dog style, decent story (but maybe a bit overhyped) and not as much fun as the Uncharted series.

GTA 5 - a lot better than GTA IV.

Bought Witcher 3 on the weekend and fuck me, it's intimidatingly huge.

Reminds me a surprising amount of Red Dead Redemption due to the outdoorsiness and the way the main quests, side quests and locations work. I could probably handle it being a bit lighter on the RPG stuff—crafting, alchemy etc.

it's a fine game. one thing i'd recommend is to try and do quests when they match your level, perhaps even above your level. it's very easy/tempting to over-level and just steamroll everything, but the game becomes tedious that way

I almost never play RPGs so I was overwhelmed by the crafting and alchemy at first, but it really is quite easy once you get the hang of it.

I just find it a bit boring, and the inventory interfaces also have a usability deficit.

I'd be largely content just to get weapons and armour upgrades through monster drops and occasionally "craft" the odd thing made of two basic ingredients a la Last of Us.

Pretty fun game though, I completed White Orchard and there were quite a few nice surprises in there.

About to purchase a copy of Skyrim based on the general ratings it seems to be getting here. Does anyone know if there is any point buying the Legendary Edition, and if so what is the difference between that and the normal one?

The Legendary Edition seems to have the three DLCs included plus a few other useful add ons. I'd go for it, if I were you - assuming the cost isn't hugely different.

Almost exactly the same. Probably a pound difference lol. Are these downloadable content or on the disk itself? It's on eBay as I couldn't find it anywhere else and you can never be sure if someone is selling it on there with the content already downloaded or not.

Just bought it. Got sucked in and ended up also buying LoU remastered as well.

Edit: Only a combined 40 so pretty good price I reckon.
