Could possibly see this happen. We were linked to him back when he played in the Spanish second division too. I think he's a very good player to be fair. He'll be gone to the ACN though so he won't be much of a squad reinforcement in the january window.

big fan of Diame. At about £4m, it's a steal. Issues are he's had heart problems before. Although that didn't stop us from signing Kanu.

I don't think Diame's great. He's ok, and we don't have a player like him, but what would we do with him? Where would he play?

Still, hard to get Get excited by a moderate player with no upside. He's fine, but surely there are better options. Can't see him having any impact, really.

We still had Song at the time though so there might have been less need for someone like Diame.

I think he's a good player in any case. Strikes me as a better and more disciplined version of Tiote. I'd like someone like that in the squad. The midfield wouldn't fall apart every time Arteta is out.

I would prefer Luiz Gustavo who looks a much better footballer, while also being a mobile ball winning type. Diame looks sluggish, but he definitely has the right type of game.
