Alex our second best player? I'd say... and it pains me to do so, but Gervinho had more highlights of game. It's just a pity he fucked em all up. Alex was fairly quiet. Wasn't penetrative enough, wasn't finding enough space or making enough runs. He was just there, doing the bare minimum for a passing grade.

For all the talk of Theo's technical flaws, it's pretty obvious that Gervinho has plenty of his own. He can dribble past a man, sure, but his passing and shooting technique is absolutely dire.

to oversimplify it, he's not good at kicking balls. huge limitation for an attacking player.

What'd everyone think of Ox? His performance wasn't exactly polished, but he seemed to be a lot more lively than the majority of his performances as of late.

He earned us that second penalty and his bursts down the wing followed by first rate delivery into the box on a couple of occasions were excellent.

Wenger says he's 'sorry' if it wasn't a penalty but Cazorla says there was contact. 'I asked him because I knew you'd ask.'

Wenger: 'I will look at it, don't worry. If I feel he hasn't been touched I will speak to him.'

Just got back from the game. Me thoughts

We played in spurts, worryingly there were times where nobody moved or showed for the ball
Jack's getting sharper, the burst is slowly coming back
Gervinho is brain dead. Made so many awful decisions
That west brom are as high as they are in the prem speaks volumes for the leagues lack of quality
Their keeper is a twat and it was well funny dishing him abuse
3 points makes things look better. Hopefully we can clock up a few more wins and stay there or thereabouts and fix things in jan. the front three desperately needs some quality additions

I think the WBA player just lost his balance, Dules. And once he realised that Chambo was getting away he tried to make it look like a foul by going down.

Hmm. I think I would add a wide player who knows how to stretch a defence and beat their man. Basically, someone who's a bit like Gervinho only a good footballer... so a two year older Chamberlain in other words. It wouldn't hurt with a mobile centreforward who can take some pressure off Giroud either.

Loved seeing Rosicky - Jack - Caz behind the striker. Wilshere started really bossing it further up the pitch.

Really happy with yesterday's performance. Both Jack and Ox had their best performance for us this season. Jack is a quality player. Ox is still rough around the edges but with the right direction can become every bit as good as Rooney. Cazorla was also immense, and it's good to see Vermaelen and Mertesacker settling into a partnership. I was happy with pretty much everyone on the field.

My one concern was Predator. Gervinho's effort cannot be faulted but he lacks composure in the box. I think we would be better off selling him and Walcott and investing in one really good 20m pound winger. It's painful to watch these guys sometimes when you think about the wide men who we have had.
