You may be right but when you watch a Centre Forward spend 90 minutes half-heartedly trying to, but never succeeding in closing down defenders while not threatening the opposition Goalkeeper, it is easy to be unfair on him

He actually won the ball by some excellent pressing a couple of times and looked to make runs behind the defence. The midfield and wide players didn't help his cause though.

(Reading that, it may seem like I think Chamakh had a good performance, which is not the case)

here is the crux of it wenger will never pay and over the odd transfer fee for a player yet since he has started doing wages we have overpaided player consistently.

I really hope we can have a true purge of players:

fabianski, squillaci, djourou, mannone, santos, gervinho, diaby, arshavin, bendtner, chamakh, park.

And rebuild with a proper structure based around having a fisrt 11 well paid and the rest working for their money through incentives and lower general pay, give em free transfers if thats what it takes but they all need to go.

Does anyone else think, the adoption of the zonal marking is allowing opposition midfielders too much time on the ball? I know it was our scrub team yesterday, but i thought their midfielders, especially in the 2nd half when Rosicky went off, seemed to have a lot more time than ours to pick and choose a forward pass.

I think we'll probably see a reaction here and win this match.

Negativity aside, our squad's better than our league position and the players will see this as an opportunity to start rebuilding. We are going to put out a good team as well.

First goal and solidity in the first half will be important. Give West Brom a sniff and suddenly they'll start to feel confident they can get something out of it, which will hurt us.
