we hardly ever get the ball in the box to begin with. he'd get horrible service here. plus, he can't carry the ball, has no pace, would kill our ability to counterattack. he'd be a horrible signing, would just cement us as a midtable team with limited options for scoring goals.

Unlike Giroud, Huntelaar can actually use his feet. He gobbles up anything in the box. Would be a good signing but i can't see him wanting to join us, especially at this stage of the season with his club likely to qualify top of the group in the CL.

We are third in the league, ahead of the Swansea game, at sending in crosses in the opposition box. Contrary to popular belief we cross A LOT.

We are 17th though percentage wise at actually finding a target with said crosses so we are not very good at it...

We keep the ball, let the opposition defence re-organise and then but a bad cross in from a bad position to an outnumbered target.

we certainly dont cross well. its always an aimless hail mary because weve run out of other ideas. ive never felt as though these high volume crosses are part of a well crafted game plan.

on strikers, its cavani or bust. no more oafish target men please

You probably have a better chance selling a story to Llorente or Falcao.
Of course, if you'd kept the 25m pound striker you had, you wouldn't be worrying about trying to buy a 40 - 50m pound striker today.

We need pace combined with presence up front. Giroud runs on quicksand - it is agony watching him.

I'd take Ba over Huntelaar - also because the former can play out wide too.

Of course, we need world class - and at least two of 'em - but that just won't happen, will it?

I think Ba scored one goal for Newcastle from january and onwards last season. Should tell people everything they need to know about his wide qualities. The goals went to Cissé instead.
