Jack - aggressive enough?
Santi - enough of a leader?
Rosicky - yuck
Shavva - Wenger won't play him there + he's off
Ox - maybe but inconsistent

I reckon we've got a lot of players that can do CM. Perhaps not in the fashion we'd like ideally but they'll do a job for now.

Every season, what we need during the January window, is unsurprisingly, exactly the same thing we needed over the summer. :hmm:

Jack and Santi have their weaknesses, but both are still top players. Upgrading on those two will be very expensive and means we've got to play them in other positions(i.e wings).

I think we could improve the team more by reinforcing the positions that we're poor at. Personally, I think a proper central midfielder, who has both attacking and defensive nous, should be one of our priorities.

We need match winners i.e. a winger and a striker. Or even one really good one of either.

I also agree with est, we need a CM over an AM. It's far too early to panic about Cazorla, the talent he has is astonishing and it's genuinely not easy to find players better. If he wasn't already at the club, he'd be top of everyone's wishlist. Plus he deserves some time to settle and find his feet, he's only been here 5 minutes and he's being asked to carry a mediocre team.

But aside from Wilshere and Arteta, I'm not keen on our CMs. Preferably we bring in someone with some physical presence to give us a few options from the bench and help out Arteta.

Get Ba and then go get Llorente or someone of stature in the summer.
Sell Walcott, move Cazorla, buy a midfielder or two and call it quits (for now).

I would go for Falcao(1st choice), Cavani(2nd choice) or Ba(3rd choice) and only go for Llorente if we can get rid of Giroud. I know we have zero chance of getting my first two choices so basically what Capi said plus a powerhouse/pacy midfielder who can put opponents on the back foot for a change
