Get to the UFC yet, Homesteak?
Not really a keep fit story, more of a keep up suggestion. Many of us have been on this forum for over a decade now. Y'all are my Arsenal fam. As close, or even closer than some of my actual family. Was thinking about how some folks just tend to drop out of circulation and we never hear from them again. Citizen 9, Timbo, Tony M, goon, most recently. It always feels kind of weird to me not knowing what family is up to, and whether or not they're okay when they stop posting.
I had a heart attack yesterday. Was surreal and surprising. I'm youngish (41), health conscious, etc. One minute I'm finishing up my morning work out, the next I'm struggling to breathe and feeling pain in my chest. I just told myself I wasn't going to go until I'd seen Gyokeres score his first goals against Man U and got to yell "in your face Jazz and Don, in your face!", and that was enough motivation to get me through it. That, plus my wife and kids, of course.
But yeah, scans pulled up blood clots in one of the arteries, surgeons went in through my wrist, sucked em out, repaired the artery with 3 stents, and here I am in the hospital, posting like nothing happened. Some heart muscle damage, but doc is confident I can get through with rehab and meds.
All this to say, I'm thinking about some sort of chat group for folks who are interested - Whatsapp, Telegram, whatever. Just to keep up and check in, irl. Make sure everyone's okay and we can support one another outside the forums if/when needed. I'm pretty sure some of us already have that personal network, let's expand it a bit. Maybe it might also help us all retain a cordial attitude and tone when the team isn't going great and things get a bit testy.
Just a thought.
