Is he prolific? Doesn't seem like he's scored or created many goals, all he's known for is his dribbling?

I've not seen him play apart from the 5 minutes he got for England.

Wouldn't mind the signing - not because I know the player well but because:

1) Seems like he could slot into the CC/FA Cup teams quickly and give us a better chance at them (something I think is critical for the team learning to win again)

2) Push AOC for a starting position as his development seems to have slowed

3) Nice to have a little flair in the team again :hmm:

No too keen.. as others have said he will be a project for a few years & we have OX & Gnabry. Championship level is shit, just look how long Theo & Ox are taking/taken to adapt. If he's is going to cost 8-10m then it will no doubt effect on the rest of our spending.

Im not opposed to to buying these starlets (and he look promising tbf) but now is reaaally not the time, we need proven quality that will improve the first team & have an immediate impact.

We should always look to purchase talented youngsters IMO, but not make room for them in the first team until they merit it.

Championship is actually pretty good now but either way, Zaha has 100 odd games for Palace. In contrast Theo had 20 and chamberlain 30, both with many substitute appearances.

Yeah, he is ahead of Walcott & Ox in that sense but I still don't see him making a impact right away. He'll need a year at least & I don't think we can afford that luxury right now, our front line is pants... save it for an elite buy.. Can't say I agree with you about the Championship

Interesting. Don't see that myself, but I've not seen as much of him as you must have. At least you've now got me interested in this rumour.

Think the argument for Gervinho was that he's shown steady improvement season by season for a couple of years. Which was and still is a sound argument. We should sign more players with Gervinho's profile. If we don't and they step up a level they will be out of our reach the next year.

Nothing wrong with having gervinho as a squad option. Just don't want him as a set first teamer

Been following this boy for a while myself as I've got a soft spot for the Glaziers. Would really like him here, though most are spot on in saying he'd be a project. He could hit the ground running, but you could guarantee some rough patches and it'd all be down to inexperience and Wenger running him into the ground in training so that he isn't a 'liability' on the wing (ie learning to protect your fullback) like Theo before and Ox now.

I wouldn't mind little Jonny Williams from Palace either if we're talking about some youngsters. He's like a Welsh Iniesta (they call him Joniesta, incidentally).

he's a luxury we can't afford. we need to spend 20m+ on a top class player, maybe two, who will dominate from day one. last time we were in this situation, we got arshavin and he scored 4 goals against liverpool. we're in the shit here, we're not looking to round off a title-winning side.

I don't want Gervinho even as a squad option. Gives us absolutely nothing. On par with Chamakh.
