When Fiorentina went burst seven or eight years ago they were re-established and changed their name to Florentia Viola, and had to start over in the italian fourth division. A few years later they bought back the rights to the club name. Italy has a better structure for judicially controlled administration than England does so it's practically impossible for clubs to cease to exist no matter how much they fuck up, but I'd imagine something similar awaits Pompey now.
