Having a big target man doesn't mean you have to use him as Sam Allardyce would. There is a reason why touchline hugging wingers are a thing of the past, that style of play isn't very effective.

yes but there are situations where a player has to cross and it would be really helpful if they could deliever a good one.

Valencia will be gutted to hear that.

So playing on the left gives him a tendency to cut inside rather than rather then stretch the defence wide for the cut back.
He'd be better on the right, even Giroud couldn't miss from 2 yards- could he? 😆

Okay it's settled then, Pod on the left Gervais on the right, Theo to Anfield.

Actually he cuts in more on the right for some reason. It don't make sense but its a fact.

I reckon he is more comfortable dribbling with his right foot and taking on player with wrong foot so he can go both directions.

Not really, 3rd too as I recall......

4 points off the top of the league as opposed to 19 points

So errr what extra prize did we get?
In what way were we better off?
3rd is 3rd is 3rd.

So, as I was saying, we did better without Fabregas and Nasri last season.

And we did MUCH better with Hleb in the side in 07-08, interesting...

What trophy did we win?

The Biggus Seeming To Become More Direct Because You've Sold Your Best Midfielders Participation Cup?

We certainly competed well in the Relying Insanely Heavily On One Top Striker Who Nevertheless Is Made Of Glass And Then Fucks Off To United Junior League.

Forget it, BW, he's becoming as tedious to read as Anzac has over at the other joint.

I don't agree with that in the slightest STP. Every forum has its yin and yang.

Just don't ask Biggo which one he is, it could get ugly 🙂

Biggus is a top poster mate.

You may not agree with him, but this forum absolutely needs a committed anti-Wenger, anti-possession football advocate.

Yes, he shifts tack as giddily as Donald Crowhurst taking on Hurricane Katrina, trailing a wake of failed arguments and preposterous claims, but beneath the surface there's a hull of perfect sanity, albeit encrusted with revolting barnacles.

And in all other matters he's a reasonable and humorous man by the prevailing standards of the internet.

And that's all I have to say on the matter. 🙂

You don't believe that.

can't shoot, can't pass. Runs and plays like a headless chicken.
useless player.

we were bobbins last season, and only got 3rd by dint of some terrible keeping by fulop.

and 07/08 was our best side since the invincibles. deal with it. 8)

Well Gazza you can only beat whats put in front of you, it seems a long bow to draw to suggest the league was harder in 07/08 then it was in 10/11.
Anyway Hleb had less to do with our strong 08 campaign that the wonderful form of Flamini.

If Biggus did not exist it would be necessary to invent him....I may not agree with what Mr Biggus says but I will fight to the death for his right to say it. 😆
Come 'ere and give me a hug Mr Voltaire.

😆 I nearly paraphrased Voltaire ... I may not agree with the shit you talk, but I will defend unto moderation your right to talk shit.

I'm disappointed I didn't get a rise with the Crowhurst analogy though. 🙂

Is that how you see me, as a Walter Mittyesque character?
That lone voice that points and laughs and shouts-
The Emperor has no clothes!
The Emperor has no clothes!

Indispensable to any self respecting forum.

Or those "they took err jerrbs" guys in South Park ...

ERMAHGERD ... THEY TOOK ERR CERRPS

😆 Look out! it's Biggus!
He's coming right for us!

What's there to answer? You've got this idea in your head that we did better in 11-12 than 10-11 because we played 'direct' football, but as soon as one points out that in 07-08, we did better again playing your much hated tippy-tappy, all of a sudden there is no prize for third. Not much consistency, see, hence the 'lobby rat' 'attack'.
