Stylistically Gervinho is a much better fit in this Arsenal team than Giroud. Just wish he had a little more composure and quality. But he'll always get good goalscoring chances as a central striker because he's a livewire and he's incredibly quick and sharp over short distances.

Anyway, we'll have to see how things develop, but I can see potential in him to be a good goalscorer, but a lot will depend on his confidence after his first lean patch.

I can tell you one thing, I'd certainly rather be backing Gervinho to score or assist in this game than Giroud, much as I don't write off the latter.

And I can tell you another - if Giroud doesnt grt his act together and we're relying on Gervinho keeping it up all season, we're proper fucked.

I think Giroud will play today, he should be fit and fresh and needs to be playing if he's going to get going.

Oh no, I wasn't being as kind as that.

I was more talking about the sort who proclaim Cazorla the best player in the leagues after 3 games, Steve Bould the Messiah after 3 consecutive clean sheets, and Gervinho the answer to our goalscoring problems after a month.

Gervinho will play more the flanks or though the middle - he can play anywhere now.

Well Gervinho did little today to support that assertion 🙁
Theo is better than him on the right, Podolski better on the left, and Giroud's made some significant headway in staking his claim to be the number one central striker.
