He's not good enough as a striker up front and he's fucking useless on the wings against anyone better than the relegation fodders. Can live with him as a squad player, but he can not start many games, if we intend to do well this season.

I don't hate Nasri because I never particularly liked him, I thought he had a good six months but never lauded him as the hero that so many others did. That said, average Nasri is a better footballer than average Gervinho.

As for the Nasri-thread, I've always said (since we bought gerv) that nasri was 10000x better than this guy.

The thing with the lesbian was, that even on his shite days, you could still count on him to keep the ball moving without losing it. Hence he never became a liability. Gervinho and Arshavin are particularly infuriating, because they keep trying their shit over and over again when things aren't working for them and fuck up most of our attacks.

Gervinho seldom loses possession in dangerous areas whereas Arshavin, even on his good days, does exactly that all the time.

6 games 4 goals thats a decent return if he can keep it up, his main problem last season was his lack of goals now he has tried improving that, i think some people dont like him just because he isnt a big enough name.

No, people dislike him for exactly the reasons that are constantly cited: he has poor awareness and misses obvious passes, and his percentages on delivery and finishing are very low.

As a player and a character, he's quite likable. He's earnest and tries very hard, takes responsibility and piles quite a lot of pressure on himself.

If he plays up front all season he'll get a good return of goals for us. He's so sharp he'll get a lot of chances.

For all the talk of his poor finishing (and seeing him shoot is always slightly amusing), he has still been significantly more clinical than Giroud, who's supposed to be a pure finisher, whatever that means. He's still the most infuriating player to watch though.

If he keeps it up, people will stop talking about him as a poor finisher though. I don't think he will, but I've been wrong before, so...

i prefer him up front to having him stumble over the ball on the wing. playing up front he'll be less involved in our build up play; thankfully...

there was one situation against chelsea that made me almost lose it. it was a fast break and gervinho received the ball about 10-15 yards into their half or so. two of our players made good runs down our left flank and were completely open. not a chelsea player in sight. gervinho, of course, fucked it up. didn't see the runs...

I'll grant you he doesn't come across as the Sun Tzu of tactical awareness, or the Marcel Marceau of witty goal celebrations.

I don't like him because I find him immensely annoying to watch. Possibly even more so than Feo.

I think everybody in the stadium bar Gervinho, and million more in front of their tv sets, noticed that. 🙂

He did exactly the same thing at the start of both halves - Ramsey broke through midfield, markers failed to track him each time, and Gervinho was just off dribbling towards the opposite touch line for no reason at all.

It was pretty terrible. Reminded me of Diaby when he's at his most frustrating. We don't exactly benefit from having so many tunnel-visioned players in the team at the same time.
