I honestly think, and it makes me vomit a bit in my mouth, that I'd rather persist with Chamakh than us signing Suarez.
On a footballing POV he'd be a great signing, but I despise him as a person and the way he acts on the pitch that I have a difficult time to put it into words.

Suarez hasn't proven anything in top flight football. He's only recently started to score goals whether he can sustain it will determine if hes the real deal.

He scored plenty in Holland. Based on that, a reasonable time to adapt to the PL and his skillset - I'd say the odds are pretty good on him keeping on scoring.

Harsh Tim Olly is deadly if he gets the ball delivered into the box with pace, even Chamakh can put in a decent header if he gets the right service.

Well, if we wait until he has proven himself he'd definitely be too expensive. We don't generally go in for targets at the peak of their careers.

He'll be pretty pricey anyway. If the stories are true, Liverpool have set the amount they are looking for; £40m.

Pool would be better off selling Gerrard for £10-15m or whatever they can get.

Could probably recoup that much in cut price deals for guys like Downing, Carroll etc. They are obviously mindful of recouping as much as possible on those players but selling Gerrard would be a massive PR blunder; they'll still be carting him out in four years time.

Liverpool would be better off by keeping Gerrard. Same as us with RVP. Sort of.

He clearly gets in the way of Rodgers' vision and is somewhat past it, but I suppose if I were a Pool fan it'd be a very different story.
