Wow, didn't see that game but that is ridiculously soft.

In slow motion from that angle it does appear that Shelvey and Evans both go for the ball two footed, Shelvey gets his feet kicked apart giving the appearance he's in over the top, but then never makes hard contact.

Bit of a freak though, it's easy to see why Halsey sent him off, it's just a bit odd that Evans got off "Scot" free ...

I saw that game.
I have the greatest respect for Mark Halsey he's one of my favourite refs, but I think he got this this one wrong, at full speed Evans is jumping in too a booking for Jonjo would have sufficed but Fergi probably was in the ear of the 4th official and Jonjo had a go at him (Fergi) on the way down the tunnel.
It really ruined the game, Jonny Evans is a cunt- that is all.

Agree that Halsey's a top guy, and a good ref, but he got two big calls wrong in that game. Typical United, used to it now.

Halsey good ref really? Hes a fucking shite united scumbag. I thought he was bribed in this game. I remember him giving the young dive as a peno at the end of last season too.

Suarez is still a great player in my books, just that his reputation is failing him.

Suarez is nowhere near a great player. Has some exceptional qualities, which could theoretically make him great, but unfortunately for him, he's a total imbecile, a racist and a cheat.

Just seen the highlights. How on Earth was Evans not also going in 2 footed, studs up and in the air? They both made the same challenge surely.

Obviously taken in the context of each situation those United penalties awarded aren't all on the back of a Fergie rant, a dive by Ashley Young or a Webb - there's probably more to it than that, but crikey that is a hell of a lot of penalties.

We need to get better at getting them, seriously.
