Sadly, I don't think most people hate him.

eh, i think people who actually watch him and arent a fan of the team he plays for generally dont like him... not true in all cases of course..

Its true. Nobody likes him other than supporters of the club he is playing at and generally female fans

my wife disagrees.. she calls him "adam's apple fag-boy" (pardon the political incorrectness)

😃

I actually quite like Ronaldo.

I've got no problem with him either. He can be a cunt sometimes but people have to realise how much physical abuse technical players like him get every time they step on the pitch. A few antics doesn't even begin to make up for it. You always hear about the guy who goes down too easy to win a penalty but we tend to forget how often these players are bruised, battered and beaten up by brutes who constantly breaks the rules without getting much criticism for it - unless they're doing something truly shocking, like breaking someone's leg.

Edit: I'm not saying it's a good thing to roll around like a little girl pretending that you got punched in the face when you didn't. What I'm trying to say is that for every such stupidity from Ronaldo there are at least twenty shocking tackles against him that goes by unnoticed. People who claim they hate him because he's disgracing himself in front of the cameras would to well to remember that. For some reason people dislike players that simulates, but they rarely seem to give a fuck about players who blatantly break the rules by being violent.

i havent got a single nice thing to say about cronaldo. horrible human being.

I think you're being too hyperbolic there Klaus, the shoves taps and dirty tricks of a football pitch are nothing compared to the real violence you might experience off it.
The day they make football a non-contact sport to suit nancy boys like him will be the day I stop watching it.
No one want to see players hurt from tackles but the fact is that players get injured far more from fast paced twists and turns than the odd high profile leg breaker.

Anyway show ponies like Crynaldo and Nani bring it all on themselves by their outrageous antics.

Not every technical star plays up as much as Ronaldo. Can't say I find his personality on the pitch remotely likeable - he comes across as an arrogant, self-involved, whining, lying, malicious jerk - and that's amidst a group of twenty-two professional footballers.

The rantings of player haters who don't make 200 000 pounds or week or have a Ballon d'Or in their dining room. Ronaldo is the man. If I were him, I'd dive to the ground as soon as a defender got within a meter of me. I'm with Klaus on this one.

John Terry he ain't, but he's still a greasy, smarmy, diving twat.

There are worse players for sure, as Asa said, John Terry (and funnily enough, the first two that spring to mind after him are also English) being a prime example but I don't like him much either. It's not really his theatrics but just his general attitude. He's incredibly arrogant and extremely up himself and it's a stark contrast to Messi for example, who is hands down the best player in the world by some distance, yet he is as humble as they come. I'm not under any illusion that most footballers aren't arrogant though.. heck, I think Henry was incredibly up his own arse despite many who claim he was humble, but Ronaldo just takes it to another level.

I'm not a "player hater" I'm a Ronaldo disliker. Cracks about twenty-two professional footballers aside 😉

Bingo!

I think people look hard to find faults in excellent opposition players that play for our rivals. Not that it's hard to find fault in Ronaldo but once we do it's overplayed. We say he's arrogant but that "showy" side to him is his style. Henry had that brashness and I remember United fans going on about him being arrogant, about Pires, Wenger and Arsenal in general.

Confidence is said to be into arrogance, strength and desire is said to be dirty player etc.

Fabregas is arrogant imo and opposition fans hate him but what has he won? At least Ronaldo has trophies and individual accolades to back him up.

One thing I will say which I enjoyed was watching EL CLASICO. Real went up 2-0 with a Pedro goal I believe. The cameras then cut to Ronaldo who was trying to say calm looking at the other players, nodding in assurance and mouthing, 'it's good it's good' or something to that effect. He was all don't worry this can work out in the end. This was funny in itself but by the time it was 4-0 or 5-0 the cameras cut to Ronaldo again and he was almost in tears. He was distraught.

Lol. I can assure you, Real will not take that defeat lying down. In Mourinho and Cristiano, Real have two of the biggest cunts in the football world. But these are cunts who work harder than almost anyone else in the business. The return leg will be a treatas these two try to prove themselves.

How many people here would reject a trade of Nasri or Fabregas (our best players) for Cristiano?

I'd swap Cesc for Cristiano in a heartbeat considering Cesc doesn't even want to be here anymore. 😉

I'll give you that Zico, Ronaldo's work rate in matches and (apparently) during training sessions is hard to fault. Although he does let his prima donna emotions ruin his performances at times.

i cant stand his playing style and "personality", i wouldnt have him on my 5-a-side team, let alone arsenal.

His playing style is similar to that team you always go on about. Fast paced, direct, technique and goalscorer.

Ridiculous to not want him in our team.

he would've been the perfect Thierry Henry replacement - which is what our offense is missing right now
