were they really guardiola's signings?

Seems like it, Guardiola had plenty of authority at Barcelona, even before he won the treble.

Aside from Dani Alves, Guardiola's signings have been quite underwhelming, no? Not gonna count Pique because he was only in Manchester for 10 minutes.

Pique was away from Barca for a while though, from 2004 to 2008. He was on United's books throughout that time but he was on loan at Zaragoza for a season.

For me, Pique, Villa and Mascherano have all been successful. Fabregas hasn't been that bad. He's scored and assisted a few. It's just that Barca won nothing last season.

It's Ibrahimovic and Chrystangsky and Afellay who have been poor. The jury is still out on the latter.

I didn't say 'bad', I said underwhelming.

Fabregas was a luxury signing that didn't help their cause because they've changed the way the play and he doesn't really fit in. Not his fault and I'm sure he'll do well, eventually. But the timing was off.

Then you have the likes of Keirrison, Hleb, Cáceres along with Ibrahamovic and Chrystangsky. I've not been massively impressed with Alexis Sanchez or Affelay but they deserves more time. Although Affelay is only a year younger than Podolski.

In the middle of the spectrum, they have the likes of Keita and Maxwell who were decent enough, I guess.

Didn't realise Pique was away from Barcelona for that long, still I can't imagine he was radically altered as a player in Manchester, unlike Fabregas. Which is why I count the latter as a new signing/unknown quantity and not the former.

Villa is probably the best striker around but he wasn't firing either, he was underwhelming because there was talk that he wasn't the right fit for the team. Just like Fabregas.

Mascherano 😆
Totally caught out, Higuain takes advantage.

Ronaldo mugs them now
Stunning stuff, but idiot defending from Pique

Don't know what to say about that one!

Ah damn! Should have been three.

Barcelona looking so second rate so far.

Yeah I meant Fabregas wasn't that badly underwhelming. I admit though that he's too premier league.

I already mentioned Ibrahimovic and Chrstangsky and Affelay.

I always thought Villa was brilliant. Genuinely didn't know he wasn't a fit. Eto'o was probably better.

Barca are now getting battered.

😆And now Adriano wrestles Ronaldo to the ground, off he goes
Enjoying this.

Wow. Unreal free kick from Messi.
Bent it around the wall into top corner.

I want Barca to equalise. Really hot up this game.

Sorry I was just testing the time on the posts. I thought the time was delayed.

The quality of the football in this game is immense. The pace is incredible, makes the Premier League look like slow motion.

Song about to come on

Barca's defense is shit.
