Can't believe you are arguing this. There are loads of sides who set out mainly to play on the counter ie sit back, wait for the opposition's mistake and hit them on the counter.

You realise he's essentially saying "we didn't want the ball because we'll lose the ball when we get it"? 😆
He's not suggesting that he doesn't want 70% of the ball against Barcelona, he's suggesting he's scared about having even 30% because he'll get punished by the worlds best team. It's not out of choice.
And again, I'm not arguing that different tactics exist, I'm arguing that they all aim to win (or draw). You're the one arguing that negative tactics are the ones that focus on the result. As if running rings around the opposition is ineffective. If Mourinho could get his teams to play like Barcelona, he would. He can't, so he adapts to the best way he knows.
