😆 I'm not sure what the two kneeling were supposed to achieve. I thought maybe he was hoping that the ball would hit one of their heads at an angle that would change it's flight and ricochet it goalwards.

Looked to me as if they were trying to block a defender charging it down
the ball was supposed to rebound back to the kicker, who would have had a broken wall that can't charge the ball down.

The ball was supposed to go right over the two kneelers. They were just there to confuse and impede the wall.
they did special face-crunching exercises for this very purpose.
