Spain have completed 1,552 passes in their last two WC Qualifiers but have been incapable of scoring from open play.

That just about sums up the tedium of WC qualifiers and international breaks in general.
Spain could be staring at themselves finishing the group in second place if France beat them on Tuesday.

That was prior to the game against Finland - they managed to score in that having owned the ball for 90% of the game.

I'm actually looking forward to France v Spain, even though the last time I saw them play was during the Euros and my lasting memory is that of being ferociously bored.

Chance to see how Giroud, Kos and Cazorla fare.

Will have to keep an eye on Chamberlain and Jovetic, plus I suppose I should check on Ireland v Austria...

Ireland are a much better side now with Coleman and Wilson at full back and McCarthy in midfield. Before we would have gone to somewhere like Sweden and defended for 90% of the game and lived off scraps. Now we can actually keep possession and have spells in the game where we'll be on the front foot. Still pretty crap though, can't believe Trap has gone with Connor Sammon v Austria.

Sweden isn't really a good measure of someone's quality. The players Sweden mostly used on that right hand side are pretty useless. He held his own but nothing more than that IMO.
