Could be wrong but, until QPR hilariously derailed them in January, i thought he had steadied the ship and got them playing well.

He was appointed in the last week of November, they lost to QPR on January 2nd. In between that time he managed to lose out on the Club world cup.

The Politburo used to do the exact same thing in the USSR to former comrades who fell out of favour, after they had their brains blown out on the back wall of the KGB's Lubyanka prison they were airbrushed out of embarrassing old photos of them laughing and shaking hands with Stalin, their names were erased from publications and wiped out of history, they became not dead but "non persons" who never existed.

To think that they'd hope to get away with it in this day and age......... It is indeed astonishing how the Russian mind works.

Varane is going to be an absolute monster of a player if he isn't already. Really looks to be a top class CB.

Really enjoyed watching that game. Morata, Varane, both of these youngsters performed really well.
Barca remind me of Hleb's Arsenal. Apart from some individual Messi efforts, they just pass-pass-pass in the middle of the park. Against a team that can 1) manage defense and cut passing lanes around the box, and 2) break at speed, they are extremely vulnerable. This is why Madrid can handle them.

Gives me great joy. My Facebook page has had less clutter since Barca started feeling the pain this past fortnight.
