Wenger is just the fall guy.
If Wenger didn't feel he was being backed by the board appropriately, then he would have left by now.

There are none so blind as those who refuse to see.
squallkid wrote:What did you guys expect, 30 million for a DM?
Defensive minded players go for much smaller fees than attackers unless Man City are involved.
Javi Martinez is sold to Bayern for 40m.
This is definitely a Wenger decision btw. Not the board

19m euros, so 14.9m pounds.

Are you parodying people who want Wenger to stay or something? :hmm:
Wenger doesn't sit in on negotiations and decide transfer fees.
It may have been his decision to sell Song but Gazidis and the last board have the final say on transfer negotiations.
I acknowledge the Martinez price but it's never always black and white, you can't just say we got a bad fee for Song Wenger Out!!!! when you don't know the circumstances that led to the transfer and fee.
No GM, I'm just trying to defend the man who's won 3 league titles and 4 fa cups for this club.
Well if hes refused to play its a Song decision. Although id like us to burn one of these back stabbers. Rot him in the reserves for a year and sell for 8M. The loss would probably be worth the fear.
Fuck Song. He should be ashamed of himself for refusing to play for us. He's a good player but we can't be dealing with cunts like that. We'll replace him in the next two weeks and that's that. I honestly can't be bothered with these cunts anymore. I have zero sympathy for them. I hope he loses a few limbs in a horrible accident.
Not much Wenger can do if a player had his head turned by another opportunity; that's just the game at this point. All he can do is 1) resolve it quickly, 2) bring in adequate cover. Item 1 was sorted well, it hinges on item 2 now.
on whether Song asked to leave...
He expressed a desire to go to Barcelona.
One thing to please the fans and another thing behind closed doors.
Two faced cunt.
I wouldnt regard song as a major exit, his a decent player but like clichy can be replaced. We need to deal with walcott quickly

And they wouldn't twist things in their favour?
Either way there will be add ons and such. Fee will be decent enough.
The fee is decent enough as it is.

It's like some companies have trouble keeping staff, people keep leaving they lurch from one crisis to the next.
Then it's discovered that it's all down to one sociopath in a vital position.
lagos, your nightmare is about to come true. walcott is just about our best player now.
tbh, i'm not sure i really believed that the club would actually let things transpire this way, but it's going exactly the way one would've foreseen.
you can bank on 3rd place with no trophies this year, and then next summer, barcelona will be in for whoever has the better season between vermaelen and koscielny.

Do you think so Kami?
Chelsea may have something to say about that.
Yep- In Arsene we rust.

Chelsea will say: DiMatteo, You're fired!

Alex Song is gone, good. The man has been a poison around the training ground lately. Stevie Bould nearly took his head off in Cologne.
I like the unknown of Bould in the setup. Hopefully he can add something new.

Song was more important that Walcott, Theo is actually more of a hinderance than an asset.
Yeah i know but either way we have to deal with the issue this summer is he in or out, rather than let it drag on to next summer when he leaves and everyone goes on about another summer another arsenal player leaving.
